Delaware, the second smallest state with 2,491 sq miles (6,452 sq km), is located on the eastern part of the United States. It is bordered by Pennsylvania on the north, the Delaware River on the east, New Jersey and the Atlantic Ocean to the west and Maryland in south. It is one of the five Middle Atlantic States in the country. Visit Delaware when you possess American visa.
Some tourist places in Delaware are Bowers Beach, Air Mobility Command Museum, Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village, Delaware Archaeology Museum, Hockessin - Ashland Nature Center, Middletown - Premier Center for the Arts, New Castle Court House, Iron Hill Museum of Natural History, Quaker Hill Historic District and Discover Sea Shipwreck Museum.
Wilmington is the Delaware's largest city and its economic hub. Its capital is Dover. Other best cities in the state are Bear, Claymont, Elsmere, Glasgow, New Castle, Newark, Dewey Beach, Georgetown and Seaford. You will like to live in any of these cities after getting US citizenship.
The climate in Delaware is influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. Temperatures are temperate but summers are hot and humid. The state receives snow in winter about 21 inches (53 cm) annually. The average temperature in Wilmington is 31 °F (–1 °C) in January and 76 °F (24 °C) in July.

Area
Delaware ranks 49th in the nation with a total area of 1,982 square miles. New Castle County is 438 square miles. Kent County is 594 square miles. Sussex County is 950 square miles. Delaware is 96 miles long and varies from 9 to 35 miles in width.
Climate
Delaware's climate is moderate year round. Average monthly temperatures range from 75.8 to 32.0 degrees. Average temperature in the summer months is 74.3 degrees. About 57% of the days are sunny. Annual precipitation is approximately 45 inches. Temperatures along the Atlantic Coast are about 10 degrees warmer in winter and 10 degrees cooler in summer. The average growing season varies from 170 to 200 days.

Highest - Ebright Azimuth - 447.85 ft. above sea level near Ebright Road in New Castle County.

  • Delaware was the first state to ratify the United States constitution. It did so on December 7, 1787.
  • Delaware shares a semi-circular border with Pennsylvania. The border was drawn at the time of the original land grants to William Penn from King Charles II and the Duke of York.
  • The nation's first scheduled steam railroad began in New Castle in 1831.
  • The United States battleship Delaware was commissioned in 1910.
  • Delaware is the only state without any National Park System units such as national parks, seashores, historic sites, battlefields, memorials, and monuments.
  • Delmar is popularized as the little town too big for one state. The community has the distinction of being located partly in Delaware and partly in Maryland.
  • The most historic site in Frederica is Barratt's Chapel east of town. The chapel is where the Methodist Church of America was organized in 1784.
