Merit Marks Pupils who produce good work may be awarded a merit mark and this will be recorded in their books. Credits Pupils who perform outstandingly in any non-classroom sphere such as sport, drama, music, clubs, community service etc., are given a credit sticker to put on to a record sheet. When six credits have been amassed, the record sheet is completed and then presented to the pupil by the headteacher with his or her name being published in the next newsletter. Headteachers Commendations When 50 marks have been gained, pupils receive a commendation from Mr Fuller. A similar system takes place for pupils with outstanding homework records. Pupils may also receive a commendation for a piece of outstanding work or any other praise-worthy effort. This is recorded in the pupils file and mentioned in the next newsletter.

Memories of the School
The best time of my life to date; I will never forget Nairobi School!
It was while in Form Two that my foray into writing, something that would become my career, was made.
Marsabit House was the overall best house on merit (discipline, academic, games, performing arts) during my tenure as Head of House. How can I ever forget this when Marsabit received this accolade in the school hall as students and teachers marvelled when the HOH kept on going on stage to shake hands with Principal Sammy Kyungu?
I remember Principal Nyagah, the man who I knew as my Headmaster between 1982 and 1986, saying, 'Some schools create academics but Nairobi School creates men.'How true. How perceptive. I always reminisce on this saying.
While in 'Patch' I was actively engaged in drama, music, clubs, rugby, athletics, cross-country and even attempted to play cricket.
I was Head of House (Marsabit/Scott) in 1987 and a teacher (1988).

Two ways sports can help you get into college
There are two ways that a successful high school athletic career can help you get admitted to college. One is to be so good that a college coach says, “I want this kid on my team so badly that I will my forfeit my salary and donate blood to get him here.” When a college coach makes a firm decision that he wants you on his team, athletics can be a huge advantage to you.
