(PDF file110K) March 12, 1993 TO: ALL MEMBERS OF THE NEW JERSEY LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNITY Re: The 1993 Statewide Narcotics Action Plan Illegal narcotics and narcotics-related crime affect our communities, our workplaces, our government institutions and our schools. It directly impacts each citizen's standard of living and the State's economy. Accordingly, as Attorney General, I have made narcotics enforcement the number one priority for every law enforcement agency in the State. A comprehensive plan, executed by dedicated enforcement personnel at the State, county and local levels is our best hope for success. I would like to extend my appreciation to all of those people who participated in the process leading to the release of the 1993 Action Plan. Further, I wish to express my continuing confidence that all of the recipients of this Plan will execute its directives to the best of their abilities. The citizens of New Jersey have the right to expect nothing short of our best efforts in this critical endeavor.

Regarding OxyContin®
What authority does the DEA have to regulate the handling of controlled substances, like OxyContin® ? DEA’s authority to regulate pharmaceutical controlled substances is derived from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) [21 U.S.C. §§ 801-971]. The CSA mandates that DEA prevent, detect and investigate the diversion of legally manufactured controlled substances while, at the same time, ensuring that there are adequate supplies to meet the legitimate medical needs in the United States.

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
Welcome to the DEA Mexico City Country Office (MCCO) Web Page.
The Drug Enforcement Administration, in coordination with other supporting U.S. Government agencies, assists the Government of Mexico in the conduct of counter narcotics operations against the production and transshipment of illicit drugs, and money laundering activities of major violators and their organizations. DEA provides the host nation's law enforcement authorities information and training to strengthen their institutional capabilities to prosecute key traffickers, collect drug intelligence, conduct investigation, and seize assets.
The MCCO, is the DEA Country Office in Mexico and it oversees the five other Resident Offices in Mexico. These offices are located in Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Mazatlan, and Monterrey. It is with their help, along with the assistance of the Mexican government, that we are able to put a dent in the fight against Drug Trafficking, not only in Mexico, but around the world as well.

About OBNDD Director History Annual Reports Welcome to the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD). The mission of the OBNDD is to enforce the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substance Act as outlined in the Oklahoma Statute Title 63, train and assist local law enforcement agencies, and compile drug related statistics. OBNDD provides a leadership role for law enforcement throughout the state for the investigative effort directed toward the illegal use of controlled dangerous substances. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control is a law enforcement agency with a goal of minimizing the abuse of controlled substances through law enforcement measures directed primarily at drug trafficking, illicit drug manufacturing, and major suppliers of illicit drugs. The following divisions make up the OBNDD: Diversion, Intelligence, and Enforcement. DIVERSION DIVISION
The Diversion Division of OBN investigates cases in which legally manufactured and distributed pharmaceutical controlled substances are diverted into an illegal market. Agents are trained to conduct complex investigations and audit professional handlers of controlled drugs. Because of the regulatory nature of these kinds of controlled substances, Agents work on both criminal and administrative cases.
