Yet, not only has today’s society sadly neglected children, but even where efforts are made to help, too often it comes to nothing. With these pages we - that is the editors of Scientology Today online news - want to inform you about what Scientology says in relation to children and parents. Some of this information will be new to you; some you may find to be purely common sense. Hopefully, some will help you. Scientologists believe that each of us is an immortal spiritual being. Yet, not only has today’s society sadly neglected children, but even where efforts are made to help, too often it comes to nothing. L. Ron Hubbard developed many of techniques to enhance the welfare of a child. As a basic orientation, L. Ron Hubbard points out that the child is not an enfant terrible who must be forcefully molded or broken if he is ever to behave as a responsible adult. Rather, the child must be seen for what he is: a fully aware individual in a body that has not attained full growth, Scientology ministers recognize this fact. The ill or injured child, and even infants, may be assisted . The young student suffering through his studies will find relief through the application of . The student who cannot get along with his friends can quickly resolve the matter with communication skills learned on a course specifically designed for him. And even very young children may receive

Narconon International provides drug information, education about the effects of drugs and effective drug rehabilitation programs for those already in the grip of addiction. The effects drugs and alcohol have on our society are disastrous. Millions of lives have been ruined, and many lives ended before their time. Careers and jobs have been lost, people have been injured or debilitated, savings have been squandered, families have broken up, and some have lost everything they haveincluding their sons or daughters. Our overcrowded prisons are filled with offenders whose crimes involved drugs. Many of them were on drugs when they committed those crimesand often the crime was committed to support their own drug habit. But drug addiction and dependency are not happening just to the stereotypical "drug addict". People from all walks of life, and at all ages, are falling prey to drugs. Young school kids get drugs from their classmates and friends, teenagers bring prescription drugs from their parents' medicine cabinets to "pharma" parties where they throw the pills into a bowl where anyone can take what they wantwith no idea of how the drugs will affect them, or how dangerous they are. College kids are spending hard-earned education dollars on drugs. Doctors, lawyers, business people, blue collar workers and housewives are getting hookedno one is immune.

Welcome to the home of the International Association of Scientologists (IAS) on the Internet.
The IAS is the official membership organization of Scientology, the most vital movement on Earth today. A Scientologist is defined as "essentially one who betters the conditions of himself and the conditions of others by using Scientology technology." The IAS is made up of individual Scientologists who desire to change conditions on this planet for the better. Its purpose is: To unite, advance, support and protect the Scientology religion and Scientologists in all parts of the world, so as to achieve the aims of Scientology as originated by L. Ron Hubbard Through their participation, membership fees and donations, members of the IAS support many efforts geared toward achieving the aims of Scientology. Their help can be seen in the efforts of thousands of Scientology Volunteer Ministers , providing succor to those affected by the tsunami in Southeast Asia or Hurricane Katrina in the United States, to cite but two recent examples, and in countless individual communities around the globe on a daily basis. Moreover, with perhaps less obvious but no less urgent epidemics of

Our program generally has 150 to 200 registered members every year. Since it is not practical to try to have a meeting with 200 kids, we divide the students up into teams. Each team consists of approximately 20-25 students and 2 advisers. The team advisers are often DARE officers, School Resource Officers or school personnel. We also have several college students from UNH who assist the teams.

Drug Prevention for Teens Using Process Recording
By Amie Comeau eHow Contributor updated: January 20, 2010 I want to do this! What's This? Process recording is a self reflection method used by social workers for interviewing clients. Drug prevention for teens incorporates process writing as a skill and a tool for expression. Development of the teenager's brain chemistry will vary from one age group to another. Process recording allows the teen to access an authentic voice and communicate from a place of safety and acceptance.
Drug Prevention
  • Take a course in process recording prior to teaching it in a drug prevention program. Address risk and protective factors among teens from different communities with culturally sensitive teaching methods. Access the risk and protective factors with accuracy through process recording. Major risk factors include "access to marijuana, friends who drink, opportunities for involvement in activities outside the classroom and parents taking away privileges when students misbehave," according to a National Institute of Drug Abuse study on culturally sensitive drug prevention for children. Teens have their own experiences regarding drug use and prevention activities that can be incorporated into your writing projects. Do not minimize the knowledge the teens have previously acquired with an overload of biased negative information about alcohol or drugs.
