Management of Patients With Suspected Viral Hemorrhagic Fever
INTRODUCTION The term viral hemorrhagic fever (VHF) refers to the illness associated with a number of geographically restricted viruses. This illness is characterized by fever and, in the most severe cases, shock and hemorrhage (1). Although a number of other febrile viral infections may produce hemorrhage, only the agents of Lassa, Marburg, Ebola, and Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fevers are known to have caused significant outbreaks of disease with person-to-person transmission. Therefore, the following recommendations specifically address these four agents. The increasing volume of international travel, including visits to rural areas of the tropical world, provides opportunity for the importation of these infections into countries with no endemic VHF, such As the United States. Since most physicians have little or no experience with these viruses, uncertainty often arises when VHF is a diagnostic possibility. Lassa, Marburg, and Ebola viruses are restricted to sub-Saharan Africa, and the differential diagnosis of VHF will most often be made for illness in travelers to this region. Since 1976, no imported cases of VHF have been confirmed in the United States, but every year there are approximately five to 10 suspected cases. These guidelines review the clinical and epidemiologic features of these diseases; provide recommendations on diagnosis, investigation, and care of patients; and suggest measures to prevent secondary transmission. This document updates earlier recommendations, issued in 1983 (2), for the management of suspected and confirmed cases of VHF. Accumulated evidence shows that transmission of these viruses does not occur through casual contact; thus, some earlier recommendations for preventing secondary transmission have been relaxed. Similarly, therapy recommendations have taken into account recent knowledge of the effects of antiviral drugs.

There are users following this page. Ebola , or Ebola hemorrhagic fever (Ebola HF) is a severe, often-fatal disease in humans and nonhuman primates (monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees) that has occasionally appeared in outbreaks since its initial recognition in 1976. It causes a high fever and symptoms throughout the body. Its most notorious feature is its ability to cause abrupt bleeding, both external and internal, which often results in death. The disease is caused by infection with Ebola virus, named after a river in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire) in Africa, where it was first recognized. The most recent outbreak occurred in March 2008 in Uganda. Ebola virus is a member of the Filoviridae family of viruses. The other member of that family

Revelation 13: Ebola and Marburg Virus Diseases - The "Andromeda Strain"? - A New Age / Bible Prophecy / King James Bible Code Analysis
Ebola and Marburg are very deadly viruses that keep resurfacing as outbreaks in Africa. Can the Bible Code help us find the animal vector hiding place, the carrier host animal where the Ebola virus hides between outbreaks? This we will try to do. We will run the King James Bible Code to search for answers on the Marburg and Ebola Hemmorrhagic Fever viruses: where does it hide? There must be an animal host it hides in between outbreaks. This animal it must live in and not kill. But what is this host vector animal? A bat or an insect? A mammal?
Recent History:
In early 2003, there was an outbreak of Ebola Hemmorhagic Fever disease in the Congo Republic in Africa, in the Cuvette West region, in the towns of Kelle, Mbomo, and Yembelangoye, near the Gabon border. This outbreak may have related to Saturn being at its brightest in many years in December 2002 and early 2003, and therefore there was a high Satanic energy at this time, as I discuss on the calendar pages. In early June 2003 the outbreak of Ebola in the Congo was ended with 128 deaths in 143 cases. And in October-December 2003 there was an outbreak of Ebola in the Congo, in the Northwest Cuvette Ouest area, Mbomo District, with 29 deaths of 42 cases. This outbreak had begun in Mbanza, after a family ate a dead wild boar. Astrologically this outbreak may relate to Dec. 11 2003, when Pluto the Death planet was in conjunction with the sun, and also at the end of December 2003 Saturn (Satan) was at opposition and its highest point in the sky in 30 years. And in the first half of 2004 there was an Ebola outbreak in the Sudan. And in 2005 there was a very deadly high death rate Marburg virus outbreak in Angola Africa, which in particular is killing young children. And in August - December 2007 there was an Ebola outbreak in Uganda Africa, 35 deaths.

As this chapter in the history of The Rothberg Institute comes to a close, we wanted to take the opportunity to extend a sincere note of thanks to you, our incredibly dedicated members who have driven every aspect of this project. We also want to take a few moments to reflect on what we have accomplished and to touch on how the project's results, thanks to your committed efforts, will be leveraged by The Rothberg Institute in the future. As most of you know, this project set out to develop a viable platform for enabling users from around the globe to use their personal computers (whether PCs, Linux or Unix boxes, etc.) to compute the interactions of small molecule drug candidates with target molecules that likely play prominent roles in specific human disease pathways, including those involved in SARS, Avian Flu, and Smallpox. In the more than seven years that the project has been active, our members have returned results for over 150 million drug candidate-disease target tasks, utilizing over 3000 years' worth of CPU time in the process! With the computational results available to us, we turn our attention toward harvesting the best possible candidates from this data set and focusing our efforts in the laboratory in order to accomplish our original goal: finding effective real-world treatments for orphan diseases.

NEWS SCAN: H1N1 mutation and vaccine, cholera cases climb, Ebola developments, new raw-milk pathogens
Oct 28, 2010 Mutation commonly linked to severe pandemic H1N1 disease
A study published today found the D222E mutation in the pandemic H1N1 2009 influenza virus to be more commonly associated with severe as well as mild cases of pandemic H1N1 2009 flu than the D222G mutation. Researchers studied hemagglutinin sequences of pandemic H1N1 viruses in 169 Italian patients, focusing on amino acid changes at position 222 because previous studies have suggested they may be linked to more severe disease. They found the D222G substitution in 3 of 52 (5.8%) severe cases and in 1 of 117 (0.9%) mild cases. In contrast, they found the D222E mutation in 20 of 52 (38.5%) severe cases and 37 of 117 (31.6%) mild cases. In addition, a cluster of D222E viruses among school children confirmed human-to-human transmission of that variant.
