Science and Safety
The best scientists use safety as a guide when planning projects and experiments. You learn more if you plan carefully before starting. Never do an experiment "just to see what happens." When planning:
  • Talk with a teacher, parent or other adult about what you plan to do. Use books, magazines and websites about your topic as a guide for planning. Write down your ideas about what you will do and what results you expect. Keep a log during your project or experiment. Keep your work area neat to avoid accidents. Do not eat or drink while working on a project, and wash hands after handling chemicals, animals, plants, seeds or other materials.
ELECTRICITY / PHYSICS:
  • If there will be exposed wires or switches in your project, use 9 volts of battery power or less. Do not use power from an outlet in a science project. Rockets, airplanes and other flying objects should be designed and used with care.
CHEMISTRY:
  • Wear goggles, gloves and apron if appropriate. Use unbreakable, non-glass containers if possible. Be aware of harmful chemical mixtures. Never use bleach or ammonia in a project. Do not mix or burn flammable chemicals or chemicals that can release dangerous fumes.

Streams plus nanostrands equals electricity. (Physics).
Since the discovery of carbon nanotubes in 1991, scientists have marveled at the structures' superlative strength and their promising electronic and optical properties. Now it seems that the tubes might also serve as tiny hydropower hy·dro·pow·er

New measurements by scientists in India show that a dense bundle of so-called single-wall nanotubesatom-thick sheets of carbon rolled into cylinders (SN: 1/4/03, p. 14)develops a voltage difference along its length when immersed im·merse

in a slow-flowing liquid. Moreover, that electrical potential, which ranges up to 10 millivolts (mV), increases with flow speed.
This newfound trait may lead to nanotubes' use as exquisitely sensitive flow sensors, feedback components in microfluidics devices, or power sources for micromachines, says physicist Ajay K. Sood of the

General exam structure Awards Current Subjects: Former Subjects: AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism is an Advanced Placement science course that studies electricity and magnetism . Methods of calculus are used wherever appropriate in formulating physical principles and in applying them to physical problems. It is supposed to be equivalent to an introductory college course in electricity and magnetism for physics majors. This course is often combined with AP Physics C: Mechanics to make a unified Physics C course that prepares for both exams, or it may be a separate course. In this scenario, Electricity and Magnetism is typically taught second, as it requires much of the knowledge gained in the Mechanics course. When only one Physics C course is offered, it is typically Mechanics, and this in combination with the fact that many schools do not complete their unified Physics C courses before the exam date is the probable explanation for more students taking the Mechanics exam than the Electricity and Magnetism exam.

Librarian duped by electricity, physics
Erica Firment hat have I always said? Over and over? Do the research, people. Look it up! keep making dumb mistakes. Like buying a USB cupwarmer that uses the wrong voltage. My mistake was helpfully pointed out by M-D November , who knows stuff. M-D knows stuff because he works for the folks who make the S.A.T. test. Apparently, the trivia has worn off on him. Do not play Jeopardy! with this man. Do not invite him to your Trivial Pursuit parties. Also, consult him on all electronic purchases. Thank you. That is all. Related posts:
