Providing Quality, Expedient and Customer Service-Oriented Emergency Medical Care to
the Chicago area

The mission of Emergency Care Physician Services (ECPS) is to develop a practice environment that provides quality, expedient, and customer service emergency medical care in order to benefit patients, physicians, hospital and community. CORPORATE PROFILE
ECPS is owner-operated, so our physicians have a financial interest in the success of the emergency department and the physician group. We believe this structure guarantees a strong commitment to success and quality. ECPS currently provides EM professional services to two emergency departments in the Chicago area.
ECPS Philosophy

Because each member's salary is directly linked to patient care, each member controls his or her professional destiny, ensuring that patient satisfaction is achieved. ECPS recognizes that by providing ED services, the EM physicians and ED staff must be under the same administrative umbrella in order to give all staff members equal incentives to provide expedient, quality and customer service-oriented emergency medical care. The ECPS umbrella specializes in four EM areas that affect patient flow: physician, nursing, documentation and consulting services. Professional service agreements can be arranged with one or multiple services. Emergency Care Physician Services sguterman@ecps.md

        Letter from the Chairman
The history of emergency medicine at the New York University School of Medicine is long and storied. We derive our lineage from Bellevue Hospital Center, established in 1736, which created America’s first ambulance service in 1869 and its first ambulance pavilion in 1889. The mission of the Department of Emergency Medicine is to achieve excellence as a local, national and international leader in the field of emergency medicine.  We have made a commitment to accomplish this mission by integrating research, teaching and patient care into public service, jointly with the NYU School of Medicine. Since our early days and in my thirty-one years as the director of emergency services, we have continued to evolve.  I am proud to say that our faculty and residents have always worked tirelessly to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to the exceptionally heterogeneous population served by Bellevue Hospital Center, NYU Langone Medical Center and the Manhattan VA Medical Center.  I believe that our efforts in emergency medicine, public health, medical toxicology and global health are unsurpassed.  I think you will understand our unique contribution to the field of emergency medicine after you have visited our site.
