Arge HeLep
Ar beits ge meinschaft He ssischer Lep idopterologen —
Study Group of Hessian Lepidopterologists)

www.arge-helep.de This study group is a volunteer cooperation (by amateur as well as professional entomologists) on the moth and butterfly fauna of the federal state of Hesse, Germany, supported by the “International Entomological Society” (Internationaler Entomologischer Verein, I.E.V. ) and with close relationships to Entomologischer Verein Apollo , Frankfurt am Main. The present homepage serves for internal and external communication and to easily facilitate cooperation between people interested in Hessian Lepidoptera (and, of course, also outside Hesse). The activities of the Arge HeLep are focused on the German fauna. The text is, therefore, in German language only. A few short notes and abstracts of the contents in English language are provided here (in the 2nd edition [starting 1999] of these pages) for non-German visitors of this website. The website is, however, not fully bi-lingual.
The work of the Arge HeLep comprises the following fields (nearly all pages are available in German language only;

Entomological Society of Pennsylvania
Promoting the appreciation of insects to all Pennsylvanians
About
The Entomological Society of PA The ESP or EntSocPA is one of the oldest entomological societies in the United States. At one time, the Society published the Melsheimer Series, a journal of entomological interest.  People sometimes contact the Society looking for old reprints.  If you are searching for Melsheimer articles, please contact the webmaster and he will forward your request to the proper parties. The purpose of ESP is to promote the study of entomology at both the professional and amateur level.  We welcome all interested parties to join our society whether your interest lies in research, photography, collecting, or simply marveling over insects of all kinds. You can have a PhD in Entomology or no formal training at all. ESP holds an annual conference each fall in Pennsylvania. We try to pick a new location around the state for each meeting to allow for equality in travel time for members attending the conference and to explore the various areas of this large state. Welcome
The Royal Entomological Society plays a major national and international role in disseminating information about insects and improving communication between entomologists. The Society was founded in 1833 as the Entomological Society of London and is the successor to a number of short-lived societies dating back to 1745. The first meetings were held in the Thatched House Tavern, St. James's Street. Various other places in their turn became the scene of the Society's activities before the freehold of the headquarters at 41 Queen's Gate was bought in 1920, where the Society stayed until 2007 when the Mansion House at St Albans was purchased. (View location map) In 1855 a Royal Charter was granted to the Entomological Society by Queen Victoria and the privilege of adding the word "Royal" to the title was granted by King George V in 1933, the Centenary of the Society's foundation.
