103. North Bellshill Farm - Traditional Mixed Family Farm Located In Belford, Northum
A traditional mixed family farm. Profile, the farm, the local area, and contacts.
http://www.bellshillfarm.co.uk/
Bellshill is a traditional mixed family farm located between Berwick-upon-Tweed and Alnwick, bordering the edge of the spectacular Northumberland National Park. The farm extends to 136 hectares (338 acres) and we grow a variety of arable crops and run an expanding herd of home bred ewes. My family have farmed in this area for over four hundred years and a strong tradition of combining environmental care with sound, practical farming runs right through the business. As farmers, we are acutely aware of our role as custodians of the countryside and have always tried to enhance the environment on the farm. We are conducting a range of positive environmental management projects under the Countryside Stewardship Scheme including hedgerow regeneration, stonewalling and creation of an area of no nitrogen and limited grazing to provide a better balance of wildlife habitats. You can visit our farm and enjoy one of our picturesque farm walks where you will see some of the best views in Northumberland over the Cheviot Hills and the Historic Northumberland Coast. Thank you for visiting our website, we hope you enjoy it. If you have any questions about our farm or require further information, please
