56. Stoneyfield Lochs
Rainbow trout fishing on three small lochs, situated three miles to the north of Alness near Invergordon, Scotland.
http://www.stoneyfieldlochs.com/
Set in beautiful, tranquil Highland scenery Stoneyfield Lochs offers a relaxing days fishing in peaceful surroundings yet only one mile from the A9 some 25 miles North of Inverness and only 3 miles from Invergordon. A "Troutmaster Water" with three well stocked lochs, providing opportunities to catch, from the bank, any of the quality brown, rainbow or blue trout which range in size from approx. 1.5lb to 14lbs and above. The lochs, Fyrish and Rhicullen are five acres each and Struie is three and a half acres. As well as an abundance of insect life, the lochs have many visiting birds such as ducks, swans and osprey. The osprey is partial to a tasty trout for lunch and is one of the sights to be enjoyed whilst angling. To add to the comfort of visitors there is a large car park immediately adjacent to “The Bothy”, a fishing hut available to fishers and offering hot and cold drink facilities. There is also a microwave available for individual use and the toilet facilities are also situated here. A wood burning stove for the colder weather makes this a most comfortable area for the necessary ‘pit stops’ and refuelling of visitors. This comfort is enhanced by a large decked area in front of the Bothy making available a place to rest, chat with fellow anglers or just to enjoy the panoramic view of the lochs from right here on their banks.

Sustainability Highlights Fish are a key component of the Fraser River ecosystem. They also play an important role in the economic well-being and social fabric of First Nations and other BC communities. The health of fish stocks in the Basin is influenced by the quality of the water (including temperature), the volume and timing of flows, and other elements of habitat. The status of fish stocks is influenced not only by harvest rates and fishing practices, but also the protection of habitat and management of forestry, agriculture, urban development and other human activities. Fish stock abundance has a direct impact on the quality of life of those individuals and communities that rely on fishing for their livelihood. Sockeye Salmon GETTING WORSE - Between 1980 and 2006, run size, catch and harvest rates have generally declined after 25-year highs in the early 1990s.

58. The River Spey Anglers Association - Fishing On The River Spey For Trout, Salmon
Organisation whose object is to protect, improve and maintain fish stocks, fishing and fisheries on the River Spey and its tributaries.
http://www.riverspeyanglers.org.uk
River Spey Anglers Association
Would you like more of a voice in what happens on, in and around the River Spey?
Would you like to air your views and become involved in discussion on such matters as:
Catch and release, Hatcheries, Ranching, Spinning and Worming, Seals and Saw bills, The River Spey Catchment Management Plan and River Management issues, forthcoming Fisheries legislation through the Fisheries Forum and the Scottish Executive and the strategic Framework for Scottish Freshwater Fisheries, Introducing young people into angling, Canoes and outdoor pursuits and River access.
Whilst there is a great deal of positive activity and new initiative surrounding the management of the River Spey, and whilst there is some input of views from anglers, until the formation of the RSAA there was no single organization which provides a forum open to all those who fish and use the river.
"The River Spey Anglers Association" is a clear line of communication to those who manage
the river and since formation in 2003, your committee have engaged with the Spey District Fishery Board and Spey Foundation and formed good relationships, opening positive lines of communication. There are regular mailings and open meetings with key note speakers designed to encourage discussion and debate.

4. DEMERSAL FISH FISHERIES AROUND JAPAN
Environment and Total Catch
The continental shelf (shallower than 200 m) around Japan is narrower than those in neighbouring seas, and has an area of about 424 000 km , compared to about 620 000 km for the Okhotsk Sea and ambout 940 000 km for the Yellow Sea to East China Sea (see Figure 3). Even when the continental slope area, ranging from 200 to 500 m in depth (128 000 km ) is taken into account, the total area available for demersal fish fisheries is very small at about 552 000 km . However, the total catch of demersal fish taken from these narrow waters has been substantial at about 1.8 million tons annually in recent years. Figure 3. The extent of the continental shelf area (shallower than 200 m) in the waters around Japan and adjacent seas. A variety of species are included in the total catch, including sharks, skates, bastard halibut and other flounders, plaices and soles, Pacific and saffron cods, Alaska pollack, Atka mackerel, Japanese sandfish, rockfish, sculpins, Japanese argentine, Japanese butter fish, daggertooth pike-conger, largehead hairtail, croakers, lizardfish, red and crimson sea breams, black and yellow sea breams, threadfin breams, tilefish, grunters, gurnards, perches, sandlance, gobies, pony fish, flathead, sea robin, filefish, various prawns and shrimps, crabs, cuttlefish, squids and octopuses. In Japan, the numbers of demersal fish species commonly sold in wholesale markets exceeds 250, most of which are taken from various types of
