He asked that the council should enter into discussions with Banff and Buchan College to explore ways for the College to continue to offer the "very important" fishing related courses which are currently under threat of being discontinued. He also asked that Aberdeenshire Council and Building Buchan New Beginnings should explore ways of assisting with funding. Councillor Bisset said that one of the proposals was to look at different ways of delivering the courses such as vocational training and changing the course structure. Council Leader Audrey Findlay said it was important to have a partnership approach and that the fishing industry itself should also be involved.
