Fax: 850.487.7614 An Overview of Pre-K Programs in Leon County Schools Early Intervention The Early Intervention Pre-kindergarten Program is operated through Leon County District Schools, and is funded by to Florida Legislature. The program is not available at all elementary schools, but was located in 23 schools and 7 community sites in 2000-2001. Students must be four years old by September 1 st and meet the guidelines to qualify. Parents must be working or in the WAGES program. The children follow the school calendar, attend during regular school hours, and ride the school bus with the older children. It is necessary for a responsible adult to be present to assist the child when boarding the bus in the morning and to meet the child coming off the bus after school.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Meet the free lunch guidelines Child must be four years old on or before September 1, 2000
