Tapestry Folkdance Center creates opportunities for participation in the joys of dance and music from around the world. Upcoming Events INTERNATIONAL FOLKDANCE Israel Dancing with Shira Schwartz Shira Schwartz joins Tapestry's teacher line-up in November to offer instruction in Israeli dance. Shira has taught Israeli dance at the University of MN and St. Paul JCC for 30 years, following the many diverse styles and sounds that have been "in vogue" in the Israeli dance scene. She has choreographed Israeli dance for festivals and performances across the U.S., directed numerous citywide Israeli dance festivals, and represented Israel at the Festival of Nations for many years. She has taught Elementary School General Music for the past 27 years. CONTRA DANCE: Tedd Hodapp, caller Saturday, November 13, 2010 7:30 - 11:30pm Ted Hodapp has been dancing New England Contras, traditional and country-dances from England, as well as Scandinavian turning dances for over thirty years, and he has been teaching dance for nearly all of that time. Ted is the former artistic director of the Woven Ring English Country dancers, and regularly teaches Contras, Appalachian clogging, English Country Dance, and traditional dance forms from England in Europe and in more than twenty-five states across the country. He is a co-author of several books of original contra dances. 3rd FRIDAY CAJUN DANCE Music by the Cajun Hot Soles; Cajun dance lesson by Flory Katz

San Antonio Folk Dancers is a non-profit group dedicated to recreational folkdancing in San Antonio. Currently we have regular dances once a week. We support other groups that are interested in folkdancing in San Antonio. We are happy to include announcements of events for other groups that are active in the area

IBERIAN FOLK DANCERS
The group has a varied repetoire of dances from Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Majorca, Canary Isles, Argentina, Cuba and adding all the time.
Who is for?
Anyone who is interested in dance can join. The classes are informal and friendly. There is no upper age limit.
What do we do?
Meet and practice dances from around the world with a Spanish influence. Put together voluntary shows for folk days, shows in the park, community festivals, elderly day centres and disabled events
