RCM 300.3 Effective Professional Communication
The purpose of this foundational course is to prepare students to negotiate the political, rhetorical, ethical, and interpersonal challenges of communicating in a professional environment. Although it addresses the practical demands of writing correspondence and reports, the primary focus of the course is on the development of the student's communicative judgement. Students gain skill in understanding the influence of context and relation on communication, and in presenting themselves as credible and professional in both written and spoken communication. This course is required for students in the colleges of Engineering and Agriculture, but may be taken by students from any discipline. Here are some comments from students who have taken RCM 300: In this one term, I have learned valuable knowledge that is going to benefit me throughout my life. I have definitely improved in rhetorical communication. Therefore, I appreciate the University's arrangement for providing this class to agriculture students. Thank you for an informative and interesting course. - Xiaoyi Tian, Food Science/Agriculture

There are four main types of refractometers: traditional handheld refractometers digital handheld refractometers , laboratory or Abbe refractometers , and inline process refractometers . There is also the Rayleigh Refractometer used (typically) for measuring the refractive indices of gases. In veterinary medicine , a refractometer is used to measure the total plasma protein in a blood sample and urine specific gravity In gemmology , a refractometer is used to help identify gem materials by measuring their refractive index.

Conventionally grown
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation search Conventionally grown is an agriculture term referring to a method of growing edible plants (such as fruit and vegetables ) and other products. It is opposite to organic growing methods which attempt to produce without synthetic chemicals ( fertilisers pesticides antibiotics hormones ) or genetically modified organisms. Conventionally grown products, meanwhile, often use fertilisers and pesticides which allow for higher yield , out of season growth, greater resistance, greater longevity and a generally greater mass.

There was a strong positive relationship between the selenium content in shoots and that in kernels, showing that grain selenium concentration can be predicted from that in the vegetative tissues of the plant," scientists writing in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry report.
