Gours and Gour Pools
When water containing dissolved calcium bicarbonate (Ca (HCO , almost universal in the water percolating through a limestone cavern) accumulates in a small depression, but the supply of water is only sufficient to just maintain the size of the pool after evaporation, then at the edge, where the effect of evaporation is greatest because of the thinness of the water, the concentration of calcium bicarbonate dissolved in the water may be sufficient to deposit a thin film of calcite at this point, as carbon dioxide is released, and solid calcium carbonate continues to precipitate out over time, preferentially at the existing crystalline surface in the normal manner.

50° ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNESCO Issue 1996 16 November 1996 marks the 50 th anniversary of the promulgation of the Charteer of the UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientificand Cultural Organization), one of the most active agencies of the UNO. The aims of the UNESCO are to improve cultural exchange and pool intellectual resources in order to foster increasingly greater international cooperation. To this end, it provides advice and aid to governments to strengthen schooling and, in particular, to fight illiteracy, it promotes the printing of world literature and funds educational and research programmes, etc. The UNESCO also compiles a yearly list of the cultural and natural assets of the world, a list of monuments, historical sites or simply scenery representing the cultural and natural expression of mankind. The Repubblic of San Marino, which became 133 rd member state of the UNESCO on 18 October 1974, will be commemorating the occasion with a series of four postage stamps each showing an expression of those assets, one stamp for each of the four categories into which all the assets declared to be "Heritage of the world" are divided:
The prehistoric caves of the Vèzerè Valley in France (Archaeology)
The church of the Wies Pilgrimage in Germany (Monuments)
The old-town centre of San Gimignano in Italy (Urban settlements)
The Yellowstone National Park in the U.S.A. (National parks)

    Why be a TEFL teacher?
    • to have adventures because sometimes, being in the classroom is the best forum for engaging with the people of a country to give you a chance to live in a country and learn a language to do the everyday mundane things that people in that country do to pursue a hobby/passion eg Salsa dancing in Spain, learn how to cook the perfect pasta dishes etc to stop being in the 9-5 rat race to say I did something different! (and for memories when you are sat in your rocking chair) to brighten up your CV to push you to be tolerant and adaptable to make a difference in those countries that really count to take time out while you figure things out it can be cheaper than your native country to get away from a difficult break-up
