ISKCON History:
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is the religious organization for devotees of Krishna (also spelled Krsna). Their religion is commonly known as Hare Krishna, because of the first two words of their principle mantra: " Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Hare, Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama, Rama, Hare, Hare. " Krishna means " The All-Attractive ," Hare addresses the energy of God, and Rama means "

The plain truth is that the Supreme Godhead is the Father, the Nature is the Supreme Mother and all living entities so many children of Almighty Father Godhead and the Mother Nature. Kurmakshetra
by Jagatguru Swami Lord Chaitanya visited this sacred place more than four centuries ago, yet His instructions to one of its residents are remembered even today. It was early April when our group of four devotees from the United States arrived in Calcutta. We were on pilgrimage to Kurmakshetra, a remote holy place on the southeastern coast of India. To the people of South India, Kurmakshetra is an important holy place owing to its magnificent temple of Sri Kurma, a Deity of Lord Vishnu, the Personality of Godhead, in the form of a kurma, or tortoise. Kurma-avatara is one of the ten incarnations of Godhead known in India as Dashavatara. As described in Bhagavad-gita, the incarnations of Godhead appear in this world to deliver the devotees and vanquish the miscreants. The Srimad-Bhagavatam explains that during the early days of the universe Lord Vishnu appeared as Kurma to help the demigods and demons produce the nectar of immortality by churning the milk ocean. Lord Kurma submerged Himself within the ocean, and His back became the pivot for Mandara Mountain, which was used as a churning rod. By the Lord’s arrangement, the nectar produced was distributed only to the demigods. We were eager to visit Kurmakshetra because even though the pastimes of the Kurma-avatara have been widely portrayed throughout India’s history in paintings, sculpture, literature, songs, and drama, the temple of Sri Kurma at Kurmakshetra is unique, for no other temple of Lord Kurma has ever existed.

Filed under: Uncategorized Hare Krishna is a mantra or a chant composed of sixteen repetitive words. It first appeared in 15th century India, where it was intended to bring the chanter to a higher consciousness in the form of the pure love of God. The Hare Krishna has also become widely known in the United States due to the work of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (confusingly, this group has also become known by the name Hare Krishna). The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKON) was founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanata Swami Srila Prabhupada on July 11, 1966 in New York City. It quickly gained popularity, spreading to other parts of the country. For a time the Hare Krishna was loosely associated with the hippie movement. Like most other religions, Krishna focuses on the eternal soul and the eternal connection to God rather than on the outward body. Followers are no longer expected to shave their heads and wear robes, but they do chant the Hare Krishna daily. They also attend weekly worship services, study scriptures, and follow a strictly vegetarian lifestyle.

The blast rocked the building after cylinders of gas powering a large cooker leaked during a festive meal.
About 30 people escaped from the temple in Leicester when the organiser raised the alarm just seconds before the explosion yesterday. A third of the building in Thoresby Street was destroyed in the blast.
Worshippers had been cooking in the kitchen area during the afternoon for a religious festival.

    Goloka Dhama Tempel
    Goloka-dhama – Eine spirituelle Lebensgemeinschaft
