The Hurts of Virginia and Tennessee
It seems that the Hurts (there are several branches) emigrated (at different times to the colonies from England (many from the Bristol area) and settled in Virginia in the 1600's. After the Revolutionary War, many families of Hurts moved out of Virginia, settling in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. From those states, they fanned out across the country. These Hurt pages are just a start at collecting information on the Hurts, but there is much work to be done. Be sure to read the manuscripts listed below to get a larger picture of some of these early Hurt families.
