H ungarian mythology tells the story of the Hungarians (Huns and Magyars) from their origins to the foundation of the Hun Empire and of its successor state, Hungary. This traditional account, which goes back thousands of years, has been preserved by the Hungarian people despite the centuries of persecution by a foreign christianization imposed by force and which sought to destroy all traces of the ancient Hungarian culture and religion. T he importance of Hungarian mythology therefore lies not only in its cultural value, but also in the fact that it is an ancient historical record of the Hungarian nation. Here is a brief overview of some of the main themes of the ancient Hungarian mythology (click on images below).

A Hungarian legend tells the story of Emese, wife of gyek the descendant of Atilla, who once had a dream in which a Turul appeared to her. In this dream, a crystal-clear stream started to flow from her, and as it moved Westward, it grew into a mighty river. This dream represented her symbolic impregnation by the Turul, and meant that she would give birth to a line of great rulers. Emese later gave birth to lmos, who was the father of rpd, the great leader of the Magyars and founder of Hungary. This story reaffirms the Hun-Magyar kinship, and the knowledge that the Magyars reconquered Hungary as their rightful inheritance from Atilla's great Hun Empire.
T he great mythical Turul bird of prey is one of the most important symbols of the Hungarians. It represents their god's power and will. The Turul was seen as the ancestor of Atilla, and it was also the symbol of the Huns. The Hungarian Turul is often represented carrying the flaming Sword of God.

Change to Hungarian THE 5 th SEVEN TOWERS FESTIVAL Feeling of tradition Budapest, 35. November 2006 Music used to be undevidable from feasts. About 10 years ago Etnofon Records joined those who aimed with their efforts at lifting Hungarian folk music and the music of nations living with Hungarians to the range of "feast" again. Etnofon has prepared the festival program according to this aim. Recommandation Arnold Ipolyi: Hungarian Mythology - Pest, 1854) Since centuries the symbolics of the Seven Towers have appeared many times in the Hungarian cultural history. Our publishing company, which sets its goal to be the broadcaster of music with folklore origin eleven years ago, thinks that this legend is a timely symbol again.
Supplementing the listing of the Seven Tower's treasures with the rural culture of the Carpatian Basin, of which the newly discovered and constantly shaping village music is also part of. It turned out that urban people also favour this music. Primarily on its ceremonies, of course, as in the old times.

BIRDS FALCONIFORMES FALCONIDAE > SAKER FALCON [ Falco cherrug
SPECIES INFO
The Saker Falcon Falco cherrug Description and systematics The Saker Falcon is a large hierofalcon, larger than the Lanner Falcon and almost as large as Gyrfalcon at 47-55cm length with a wingspan of 105-129cm. Its broad blunt wings give it a silhouette similar to Gyrfalcon, but its plumage is more similar to a Lanner Falcon's. Saker Falcons have brown upperbellies and contrasting grey flight feathers. The head and underparts are paler brown, with streaking from the breast down. Males (called sakrets in falconry) and females are similar, as are young birds, although these tend to be a duller brown. The call is a sharp kiy-ee. Adults can be distinguished from the similar Lanner Falcon since the Lanner is blue-grey above with a reddish back to the head. However, juveniles of the two species can be very similar although the Saker Falcon always has a uniformly buff top of the head with dark streaks, and a less clear pattern on the sides of the head. A further complication is that some Asian birds have grey barred upperparts; these must be separated from Lanner on size, structure, and a weaker moustache stripe. Saker Falcons at the northeast edge of the range in the Altai Mountains are slightly larger, and darker and more heavily spotted on the underparts than other populations. These, known as the

Theopylaktos Simocata /Greek/ : "The Turks (Hungarians) respect fire, air, water and even the earth and sing praises to earth, however they only worship the one who created heaven and earth." [Note the Greeks called Hungarians at first Turks and only later did they get familiar with their proper Magyar (Macar) name after they settled next to them.] Abufeda /Arab? or Persian/ :"The Magyars are a Turkic nation, their territory is between the Bedsenak (later absorbed by Hungarians) and the Sikul (also absorbed by Hungarians). Both were eastern nations in origin. The other neighboring nations of the Hungarians before their settlement in their current homeland also had a similar religion as the following examples show. Menander: The Avar-Hun Khan swears to the god of fire "deus ignis, aui in coelo est."

There are so many people here with so many different interests that I'm sure someone will come along to fit in with your interests. Right now I'm following the news reports of what archaeologists are digging up in Bulgaria. Quite a few royal tombs dating to the time of the ancient Thracians in the Bronze age. Quite a bit of gold and jewelry, along with swords and the like.

translation by Hargita Csaba Myths, Hypotheses and Facts Concerning the Origin of Peoples
The Ancient Identity of Hungarians
The Hungarian-Hebrew Connexion - An essay realized with the valuable contribution of the Hungarian scholar Hargita Csaba - Preliminary remarks : Owing to the lack of conclusive evidences available until now, this research proposes likely hypotheses, not definitive solutions. The historic facts exposed here and the reasonable credit that may be bestowed on ancient myths allow the author to frame feasible hypotheses open to further discussion. Is it there any link that relates with each other peoples that apparently are quite different? Is it there any relationship between Sumerians, Hurrians, Mitanni, Habiru, Hyksos, Kassites, Chaldeans, Medes, Khwarezmians, Scythians, Massagetas, Alans, Sabirs, Avars, Huns, Magyars, OnOgurs, Khazars, Uyghurs and a present-day European nation? Can these peoples, having different origins - namely Kushitic, Semitic and Japhetic - converge into the ethnogenesis of a single modern nation? The answer to these questions is: Yes!
Indeed, most of the peoples mentioned above had vanished leaving hardly any trace of themselves; yet, it is unlikely that entire nations that have even ruled over vast empires disappear: after their defeat or collapse, they have to be sought for somewhere else, known under different names.
