Disproportionately high severance payments must end

The Government introduces special taxes in order to consolidate the budget
Today in Hungary, just as in other parts of the world, emerging from the economic crisis and economic growth are in everyone's interest. The budget needs to be consolidated, and investors' confidence needs to be regained. For this, however, methods are needed which are different from those used up to now: in other words, the policies of indebtedness and austerity must be renounced.

    Hungary, Government
Between 1948 and 1989 the Communists controlled all levels of government in Hungary, and the head of the Communist Party was the country’s most powerful leader. In the late 1980s public pressure forced the country’s leaders to accept the formation of opposition parties. In 1989 the Communist Party ended its monopoly on power, and renamed itself the Hungarian Socialist Party (HSP). Soon afterward, the Hungarian parliament revised the 1949 constitution to create a multiparty parliamentary democracy in which power is reserved for the people and exercised through their elected representatives. Multiparty elections were held in 1990, and the Hungarian Democratic Forum, a non-Communist Party, won the majority of parliamentary seats. In subsequent elections held in 1994, the Hungarian Socialist Party (HSP) won control of parliament. In 1998 elections, the ruling party lost power again, as the center-right Fidesz-Hungarian Civic Party gained more seats than the HSP. deeper links
