Special Announcements Training for Lead Investigators in Death and Homicide Investigations
Public Act 96-1111 (SB 3491) Effective: January 2012
In July 2010, Governor Pat Quinn signed into law Public Act 96-1111. P.A. 96-1111 requires the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board to conduct or approve a training program in death and homicide investigation for the training of law enforcement officers of local government agencies. Only law enforcement officers who successfully complete the training program may be assigned as lead investigators in death and homicide investigations.
To assist the Board with this endeavor, the ILETSB created and recently sent out (both electronically and via mail) a statewide survey to examine how agencies currently conduct death and homicide investigations as well as to reveal what types of training death and homicide investigators currently receive. The survey results will give the Board's advisory committee an opportunity to determine the type and extent of training necessary to move towards the implementation date of January 2012.
The information gathered will be instrumental to policy and guideline development in addition to formulation of the required training standards. Should you need a copy of the survey or have any questions, please contact Jennifer Wooldridge at (217) 782-4540 or via email at

Foreclosures and REO can be purchased below market value. house for sale image by itsallgood from Fotolia.com Foreclosure properties and Special Warranty Deed or Limited Warranty Deed properties are both considered "distressed" properties, meaning the borrower has missed payments or lost possession of the property through foreclosure.
