Welcome to CLOC - Community Libraries Outreach and Collaboration
We hope this meeting will be the first of many collaborative projects between K-16 and public librarians in the greater Athens area.
Meeting plan:
Below are the four goals of our meeting, and how we will accomplish them. Since we've got a rather ambitious agenda for a 90 minute meeting, you'll notice that we'll be performing a few tasks ahead of time. These won't be very time-consuming but they will get us oriented to our subject and to each other so that when we meet in person we can 'hit the ground running'.
Meeting goals:
  • Learn about the information literacy activities we are all currently engaged in
Before our meeting, each school or library will fill out a short online form to briefly describe its information literacy activity. These will be posted to the website under the Participants link, so we can get a sense of each others' work. The UGA librarians have completed their Info Literacy at UGA form to give you an idea of what the form looks like when completed. If parts of the form don't apply to your library, simply skip them. Also feel free to include other information you'd like to share.

Information Literacy Activities that meet changes in Iranian Society Edit Information Literacy Activities that meet changes in Iranian Society Zohreh Mirhosseini This paper will discuss how information literacy national survey carried out in 2003 by the Iranian Literacy Movement Organization (LMO), affiliated to the Ministry of Education. These suggestions will include: - Producing activity oriented materials. - Organising reading circles in the libraries of community learning centres (CLCs) for analysing and evaluating information. CLCs in Iran are supervised by LMO. - Applying new participatory methods in educational programmes, such as brain storming and group discussions. The above experiences have achieved much of the LMO's aims. It is hoped that through this paper our experiences gained in this filed in Iran will be introduced and shared with our international colleagues.
