Information Literacy Activities
Instructors know that a well-designed activity allows students to discover new knowledge and put that knowledge into use. Our list of practical, hands-on IL activities is based on NAIT's IL competency standards (PDF) and addresses various aspects of how to find information, how to select the best resources, and how to evaluate and organize them for a specific purpose. Instructors can use this list to:
  • Choose an activity that addresses an IL outcome appropriate to a course. Choose an activity at a level appropriate to a course (most of these are introductory, but some are more advanced). Choose individual or group work. Customize the activity to meet the needs of any new or existing course.
If you do not find an appropriate activity, please consult with us.
