Central Anti-Poverty
The unit has overall responsibility for developing, co-ordinating and driving the Government's priorities for tackling poverty and social exclusion.
Poverty in Northern Ireland
People are considered to be living in poverty if their income and resources are so inadequate as to prevent them from enjoying a standard of living, which would be regarded as acceptable by society generally. Around 341,000 people live in relative income poverty in Northern Ireland. Over 100,000 of these are children. The causes of poverty are many and varied. There are many ways in which government can tackle the causes of poverty, one of the most effective is to ensure that, where possible, departmental programmes are targeted towards those in greatest need. The role of the Central Anti-Poverty Unit in OFMDFM is to set overall priorities and drive and co-ordinate action in this area.

Dedicated to the RUC. Contains gallery, history, details of chief officers, as well as a memorial to those murdered.
    http://www.royalulsterconstabulary.org/
The Royal Ulster Constabulary served all the people of Northern Ireland with valour and gallantry from 1922 up until 2001. Contained within these pages we have gathered together the story of the RUC to remember those who served and to pay homage to their service. Many members of the RUC paid the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives for the safety of the community as a whole, so it is fitting that we remember them here with a tribute to our murdered colleagues. This site has been provided by the Police Federation for Northern Ireland as a memorial to a great and glorious force.
