This is my story and my experience. Those who know me personally, know who I am. For the privacy sake of others involved, I am not using my real name and names of others have been changed. I am just one of a countless sea of people who have been raised in the religious group known as Jehovah's Witnesses. By posting this story, it is not my intention to paint the people of that organization as the evil enemy. Some of my horrible memories have nothing to do with the religion, but it was certainly covered up by them. Many within that organization feel comfortable following that path and are happy with that decision. They should feel free to worship as they see fit. However, some children raised in this group may be put in dangerous situations by the parents who love them. The parents really do care and love their children, but this religion tends to warp the natural love one should have for the family. There were many of us who were brought up in the organization and did not know anything other than this lifestyle and had no choice in the way we were raised. Have no doubt about it, it is a very controlling and restrictive way of life. As children, you are discouraged from pursuing advanced education. You are even in some instances encouraged to get baptized early, drop out of school at an early age, and plan on spending the rest of your life in the service to Jehovah. If you had dreams of being a famous person, forget it. If you wanted to just be a normal kid like everyone else and not stick out like a sore thumb, forget it.

What do some people say about Jehovah Witnesses?
Also known as the Brotherhood of Doorknockers Jehovah's Witnesses are the defense witnesses in an ongoing trademark dispute case in Syria Israel , the United States of America Japan , and other Middle Eastern Semitic countries. The second most persecuted religion in the world after Judaism, and the third most arrogant religion after Catholicism and Shia Islam, Jehovah's Witnesses form a sect of Christanity who believes solely in the bible and that all Christians are false witnesses of Jehovah. To strengthen their case, Jehovah Witnesses try to gain support from strangers and household residents to also testify in the impending court proceeding.

The Witnesses make many claims in their attempt to convert you to their faith. They profess to have the only true Christian church, to be the only true representatives of God, to have the only correct biblical teaching, and to be the only true announcers of Jehovah's coming kingdom. If they are the only true church and are the only true voice of God's word, then what they say should prove to be true, especially in prophecy. When it comes to predicting the future, the Watchtower organization fails miserably. Following are some of the false predictions made over the years by the Watchtower organization. If you present these to a JW, he will probably say something like, "Those are taken out of context," or "They didn't claim to be the prophet of God," or "The light is getting brighter and we are understanding Bible prophecy better now," etc. Make a copy of these false prophecies, found in the appendix, and give it to them to check. They are right out of the Witnesses' literature. Remember Deut. 18:22, "If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him." If someone makes a false prophecy, and they have claimed to be a prophet of God, then they are false prophets and are not to be listened to. Do the Witnesses claim to be the prophet of God? Yes, they do.

Banning vaccinations:
An early leader of the Jehovah's Witnesses , C. J. Woodworth, maintained a continuing opposition to vaccinations. He seems to have believed that vaccination caused animal blood cells to be injected into humans. This he regarded as equivalent to eating blood, an activity that is forbidden in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament). The group banned their members from having vaccinations from 1931 to 1952. An unknown number of Witnesses were disfellowshipped because they disobeyed their leaders on this matter. The following condemnations of vaccination were published in the Jehovah's Witnesses' periodical

Jehovah's Witnesses
General Information Jehovah's Witnesses are a society of Christians who promote home study of the Bible, which they hold to be the complete Word of God. They believe that God's kingdom is an actual government now ruling in heaven that will soon restore the earth to its original paradisaic condition. They expect an early end to the present world system in a "great tribulation" from God that will rid the earth of wickedness and suffering. Following Armageddon will come a millennial reign over the earth by Jesus. The gaining of eternal life depends on complete obedience to Jehovah God and faith in the provision of Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. BELIEVE

The Witnesses encourage adherence to the Bible's moral standards. Because of their neutrality as to affairs of secular government, their refusal to salute any flag, and their rejection of the practice of blood transfusion (which they believe is forbidden by the Bible), the Witnesses have been the subject of controversy. The activities of Jehovah's Witnesses are coordinated by a governing body at international headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. In the more than 63,000 congregations worldwide, elders, male members meeting certain scriptural qualifications, preside as a body. Instruction and training are provided for all at five meetings a week, held primarily in "Kingdom Halls." The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania and the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., are the legal agencies of Jehovah's Witnesses. They print and distribute the Bible. Their principal periodical, The Watchtower, has a circulation of 15,290,000 copies in more than 100 languages.

Speaking the Truth in Love to Jehovah's Witnesses I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and remained one until age 11. Coming out of this cult, I entered my teenage years as a bitter atheist where I remained until I graduated from college. Through God's amazing grace I was saved in 1994 after reading the Bible and realizing that it was indeed the true Word of God. Repeatedly God has blessed me with the passion and privilege to witness to the Jehovah's Witnesses. You've almost certainly had them come knocking on your door on a Saturday afternoon and you may have even engaged a Jehovah's Witness in a theological discussion. In talking to other Christians I find that when presented with a face-to-face encounter with a Jehovah's Witness there are usually two responses: 1) A “frontal assault” via debate or heated discussion; or

    REALITY
    MYTH

Jehovah's Witnesses made many erroneous predictions that the world was ending by a certain time, which financially ruined the lives of members who never sought college education or careers.
    REALITY
Over the course of the Witnesses' 130-year history, there have been periods of Armageddon predictions. Witnesses felt their belief in the imminent end of this world and the start of God's Kingdom was not compatible with the need for a higher education leading to a lucrative career in a doomed, manmade system. Also, the preaching work of Witnesses did not require a college degree, therefore the pursuit of higher education was discouraged. But in 1995, the Witnesses officially ended their belief that tied the coming of Armageddon to the lifespan of anyone alive today, saying instead it is coming "soon." Since then, more young Witnesses began to attend college classes and many still do. Recently, Witnesses have been strongly encouraged to replace higher education goals with ministry work. Witnesses whose circumstances allow are encouraged to do full-time ministry; about ten percent do so.
    MYTH
Monogamy between one man and one woman and sex only within marriage are requirements in the Witness religion. But Witnesses do permit divorce in certain cases, believing that the only valid ground for divorce and remarriage is adultery.

Sites Doctrinal Beliefs Jehovah's Witnesses consider their organization the only true Christian organization. They also view themselves as God's righteous people who are persecuated by goverments and traditonal Christian groups ("apostate Christendom"). Witnesses believe that the truths of Scripture were lost through an apostasy that occured centuries ago; then God used C.T. Russell to bring to light and restore many of the Christian teachings that had been lost . A few of Russell's doctrines have been kept, others have been modified over the years, and some have been discarded altogether. Jehovah's Witnesses deny many of the cardinal doctrines of historic Christianity: the Trinity, the deity of Christ, the physical resurrection of Christ, and the personality of the Holy Spirit. They also deny a concious eternal punishment for the wicked, the immortality of the soul, and the subtitionary atonement of Christ. Source: by H. Wayne House
