Welcome to the Kangaroo page! Did you know that there are about 50 kinds of kangaroos in Africa? Did you also know that a champion jumper can reach about 25 feet or more? They can also reach speeds of 25 miles an hour. On this page you will find more interesting facts about kangaroos. Animal Communication Most kangaroos make few noises even when they’re hungry, excited or distressed. They do sometimes make lo w grunts and coughs that can be signs of submission between males. Red kangaroos “click” while female grey kangaroos “cluck” to summon their young. When a kangaroo senses danger, it alerts others by thumping its hind legs on the ground. Kangaroos are sometimes attacked by dingoes (wild dogs). Most of the time kangaroos live alone or in small groups that are made up of a mother and her young. Did you know that kangaroos called wallabies push with their front legs? They use their back legs to kick at each other. Physical Characteristics Kangaroos belong to a group of animals called marsupials. A marsupial is a

Kangaroos and Wallabies Affectionately known as "Roo Heaven," the Australia Zoo's macropod enclosure is one of the largest and most beautiful kangaroo and wallaby enclosures anywhere in the world. This macropod paradise has a wide variety of habitat types that cater to the many different species that call Roo Heaven their home. Open plains and grassland is where one will find the three species of large kangaroo at the zoo. Eastern gray and red kangaroos are the most numerous, but a few western gray kangaroos hang about as well. Lurking in the woodland areas are mobs of red-necked wallabies, black-striped wallabies and the occasional common wallaroo. These smaller macropods prefer habitats with more vegetative cover. Roo Heaven even has its very own swamp, which caters to a herd of swamp wallabies. These small macropods can be found in a wide variety of habitats in the wild but certainly prefer the wetter areas at the zoo.

Kangaroo Shop On the Australian coat of arms the Emu and the Kangaroo were selected as symbols of Australia to represent the country progress because they are always moving forward and never move backwards. Kangaroos are the largest marsupial mammals. They belong to the Macropodidae family. Kangaroo moves by hopping on its hind legs using its tail for steering and balancing while hopping at speed up to 40mph/60kmh. When kangaroo is moving slowly the tail is used as an extra leg and supports the kangaroo when it is standing on its hind legs. Most kangaroos can only move both back legs together and not one at a time. Kangaroos are found in Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea. They are grazing animals that eat grass, young shoots and leaves of heath plants and grass trees. Kangaroos need very little water to survive and are capable of going for months without drinking at all. A male kangaroo is called a buck. It is also commonly called a "boomer" or an "old man". A female kangaroo is called a doe, or a flyer. A baby kangaroo is called a joey.

    KANGAROOS
Where do they come from? Why the pouch? Why do they hop? How fast are they? Did they evolve from some other animal?
K angaroos are the symbol of Australia. They appear on Australian postage stamps, coins, and even on their airplanes. What makes kangaroos so interesting to people? It seems to be the kangaroos' attractive face, the way they carry their young in a pouch, their amazing leaping power, and their deadly “karate kicking.”
The term “wallaby” is applied to those species where the adult male has a body mass less than about 20 kg (44 lbs) and feet less than 25 centimeters (10 inches) long. However, scientists can find no other major difference between these and kangaroos.
Large joey, ready to leave the pouch
Kangaroos’ superb design, their fascinating way of having babies, and the amazing, energy-efficient way they move is evidence that they were created by God. Kangaroos were not made by Evolution. For example, no baby kangaroos would ever have survived to grow up and make more babies unless the first mother knagaroo's pouch was designed just right (see below), and the very tiny baby joey was designed with the instinct and ability to find it.
Kangaroos vary enormously in size. The tiny, scampering musky rat-kangaroo lives in the tropical rain forests of northern Queensland (Australia). A huge kangaroo called

      KangaROOS
It was an American architect by the name of Bob Gamm who conceived the original idea for shoes with pockets back in 1979. Gamm, a running enthusiast, had struggled to find a place to store his keys and money whilst out jogging his daily 10K. Taking matters into his own hands, Gamm, a keen designer, developed his own lightweight training shoe with a small zippered pocket on the side. The KangaROOS brand was born. KangaROOS’ history is rich with a culture of innovation and fun, driven by the pioneer spirit of its founder Bob Gamm, and KangaROOS’ future is no different. Working with world-class local partners, to understand and communicate with consumers, has given KangaROOS a competitive edge in an ever-changing global market. 2009 marks the “30 Year Anniversary” of the KangaROOS brand, which has come a long way since its humble jogging shoe origins. With running in its pocket, it wasn’t long before KangaROOS had exploded onto the American sports scene. By the mid 1980s, the famous logo had started to appear on a number of high-profile US sports stars, including the brand’s most famous ambassador and NFL legend Walter 'Sweetness' Payton.

    Middle Eastern Kangaroos:
Learn more about kangaroos at Conservapedia Did Kangaroos once live in the Middle East? Like most people who have been indoctrinated by the secular media, your answer to this question will probably be: "No, of course not! Kangaroos live only in Australia." But is that really true? Let us think about this a little more deeply using a proper Biblical perspective. Ask yourself these questions:
    • Do you believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of the Lord? ("Yes.") Do you believe that the Lord brought the flood waters to the Earth and that all animals wherein the breath of life resided save those which Noah brought aboard his Ark were destroyed? ("Of course, that follows from your first question since the Bible tells us that this is what happened.") Do you believe that kangaroos were amongst those animals aboard the Ark? ("Yes. Even though they were not explicitly mentioned in the Bible, they have the breath of life and so clearly two of them must have been aboard the Ark. How else would they be alive today?")
