It's real. just some park in the suburbs by the river, they're wild and use the river as a green corridor to move up into more bush if they need to. I mountain bike there all the time and even locals are surprised there are so many 'roos so close to the city. Its pretty cool. 7:26 PM

Half.com *Also starring: Christopher Walken , Estella Warren, Dyan Cannon, Marton Csokas Reviewer Roundup Dustin Putman review follows Steve Rhodes read the review Review by Dustin Putman If a person over the age of 12 walks into a movie called "Kangaroo Jack," it would probably be best if they were to lower their expectations first. How worthwhile, after all, could a lived-action film be in which there is a scene where a kangaroo belts out the lyrics to "Rapper's Delight?" The surprise, then, is that "Kangaroo Jack" is far better than it has any right to be (and for the curious, the singing kangaroo bit is thankfully only a dream). Silly and inconsequential, but also pain-free and passably entertaining, it is an unlikely action-comedy that is fast-paced enough to capture the attention of children, and smart enough (relatively speaking, of course) to make it fully tolerable for adults. Charlie Carbone (Jerry O'Connell) and Louis Fucci (Anthony Anderson) are long-time best friends who unintentionally are always getting themselves into predicaments. When Charlie's crooked crime boss stepfather Sal (Christopher Walken) gives them a package with $50,000 inside and orders them to travel to the Australian Outback to give it to a mystery man named Mr. Smith (Marton Csokas), Charlie and Louis have no choice but to accept the assignment. Once there, their luck quickly runs out when they accidentally hit a kangaroo with their rental jeep. Believing it to be dead, they dress the marsupial up in Louis' jacket to take pictures, only for it come to and escape. The problem is, the jacket the kangaroo has on is carrying the money they need to deliver.

View other movie reviews Find a movie: Kangaroo Jack Australians must hate how America portrays their country in movies. They give megastars like Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman, and in return domestic filmmakers give them characters like Crocodile Dundee and the Crocodile Hunter. Now comes Kangaroo Jack, or Jackie Legs, a kangaroo with shades, a red jacket, and $50,000 cash. Kangaroo Jack is another failed entry in the family-friendly movie genre that relies far too much on stupid jokes and toilet humor than any real sense of worth for children. There is some muddled message about friendship, but it's a thin excuse for predicament after predicament. The reason that Jack has the money is that two dimwitted friends, Charlie and Louis, lost it to him (or her). Charlie (Jerry O'Connell, The New Guy Tomcats ) and Louis (Anthony Anderson, Barbershop Two Can Play That Game ) met when they were children. Louis rescued Charlie from drowning, and has not let Charlie forget it since. Oh, and Charlie's stepfather (Christopher Walken, Catch Me If You Can The Country Bears ) just happens to be a big time mobster. Charlie and Louis accidentally botch up on of the mob operations, so his uncle "pressures" them to go to Australia to deliver an envelope. Of course, these two idiots open the envelope and see that it has $50,000. Later, Charlie thinks he ran into a kangaroo. Louis wants to take pictures with it, and they put the jacket on it. Most of

Kids will be drawn to Kangaroo Jack because of the playful antics of a computer-generated kangaroo; however, they'll probably be bored stiff as they endure the absurd and over-elaborate plot. Charlie (the charmless Jerry O'Connell) and his best friend Louis (the reasonably amusing Anthony Anderson) run afoul of Charlie's mob boss stepfather. He insists that they deliver $50,000 to a mystery man in the Australian outbackor else. Along the way, these two dimwits put Louis's bright red jacket (which happens to contain the money) on a kangaroo they think they've accidentally killed, which awakens and bounds off. Belabored and nonsensical chases follow, along with the usual realizations about the importance of friendship, etc. Kangaroo Jack has a lot more sexual innuendo and violence than you'd expect, none of which is either funny or thrilling. Christopher Walken and Estella Warren get through their supporting roles largely unscathed. Bret Fetzer

Kao The Kangaroo Review

PC Reviews Graphics: 8.0 Sound : 7.5 Gameplay : 8.0 Multiplayer : N/A Overall : 7.7 Review by James Kinnear Kao The Kangaroo is a 3D platformer from Titus Interactive, which was actually released in the USA in 2001 but has just got re-released as a budget title in the UK. Kao isn't your ordinary marsupial. He is a fun loving, yellow kangaroo, and is fully equipped with a pair of boxing gloves. He can also perform a number of different moves including a 1-2 combination punch and a tail kick. It's a good job as he has been kidnapped by a hunter and it's your job to lead him through a wide range of levels, back to his home in Australia, collecting coins and avoiding a cast of obstacles and enemies.
There are 30 levels in total, plus a selection of hidden bonus levels, spread out across a wide variety of different landscapes. You will travel through the Australian plains, deep in space, through Rome and Egypt, and many more destinations. This wide variety of locations makes the game very fun and lets you play the levels again and again without getting too bored. What also makes Kao different from other platform games is the variety of transport. Although you will travel a lot of your journey by foot, Kao can also hang-glide, snowboard, travel in a space ship and test out a motorboat. This is one of the funnest elements of the game and makes it appealing to fans of other genres too.

'The Spit' Restoration Project

'The Spit' is a sandbar about 4 km offshore Kingscote. Years ago it was a wildlife haven with numerous seabird rookeries. In the 1960s it was demolished in an attempt to reduce the boxthorn problem on Kangaroo Island. We still have the boxthorns, but The Spit has not recovered. It would be great to restore The Spit to it's former glory. Traveller's Levy Kangaroo Island is a large island, approx 150 km long and 60 km wide, with a population of approximately 4,500 people, including children. It therefore has a very small ratepayer base. There are approximately 160,000 visitors per year travelling along our fairly extensive road network. Approximately one third of the island land area is national park and not rateable by council. The Kangaroo Island Council therefore finds it difficult to fund the maintenance required by such heavy usage of such a wide road network. To assist in funding this road maintenance, council has proposed a traveller's levy. What do you think...
