A noted on the location choice of multinational banks: the case of Japanese financial institutions
Article Abstract: A comparison of the location choice behavior of US and Japanese financial services institutions showed that while both follow the investments and locations of their respective manufacturing sectors, Japanese financial services institutions also take into consideration the opportunities present in the host country to make their location decision. While the first option in location behavior takes into account the need of the financial services firms to service a sure pool of customers, the second location behavior factor exhibited by the Japanese financial services firms shows the move of the sector towards internationalization. author: Yamori, Nobuyoshi Publisher: Elsevier B.V.

The Role of Banks in the International Financial System
Article Abstract: The international lending practices of the United States are being reviewed by the Federal Reserve. A regulatory framework is needed for longer term loans. Closer scrutiny of international exposure is needed, as is timely public disclosure and sufficient reserves. Careful consideration must be given to inflation while not hampering economic growth.
