Lighthouses of Canada: Eastern Prince Edward Island Prince Edward Island, smallest of the ten Canadian provinces, is located in the southern part of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, separated from the mainland by the Northumberland Strait. The island is readily accessible by the Confederation Bridge from Cape Jourimain, New Brunswick or by car ferry from Caribou, Nova Scotia. This page lists lighthouses of the eastern portion of the island, and there's another page for Western Prince Edward Island The Prince Edward Island Lighthouse Society works for the preservation of the island's light stations. Free / One, was, while remaining exactly of the hopeful, uplifting texture we'd normally expect from this band, rather bizarre for mixing 's classic One with their own lyrics and somehow almost getting away with it. As ever, the video prominently featured Tunde Balyewu and a blurred Paul Tucker in the background. So far, so nearly normal and expected. But for a group so fabled for bringing out those not normally seen buying records into record shops (typical stereotype Lighthouse Family fans including sales reps and stockbrokers), Lighthouse Family's prodigious pop talents are too often overlooked. There is so much utter rubbish dominating the output of the majors for the listening of the masses that, when Tunde's simplistic but all-consuming vocals begin you know you are in for something which will not only raise your spirits without making you grimace, it will also be skillfully put together by the group themselves. Perpendicular relights about whether I could or would be able to also relight Pt. Hicks lighthouse to mark its 120th anniversary. Brett had toured Point Hicks and when he met one of the caretakers, Elizabeth Blakeman, and raised the idea with her, it was met with immediate enthusiasm on her side as well. We set ourselves up as an unofficial committee with tasks divided. My role was to handle the operational and technical logistics. The relighting of an inactive classic light had never been undertaken in Victoria before. The old Point Hicks light was replaced by a balcony mounted solar beacon when the light was downgraded and handed to the state of Victoria in 1992. Permission to operate the old light needed to be obtained from both Marine Safety Victoria, the operators of the existing solar beacon and Parks Victoria, the custodians of the tower. Following lengthy negotiations with both bureaucracies we were finally granted the permission which included a list of conditions we had to follow for the two nights of operation.

Lighthouses of the U.S.: Northern Massachusetts A small state with a long coastline and many harbors, Massachusetts has a large number of lighthouses. This page lists the lighthouses of the northern part of the state, including Newburyport, the Cape Ann area, Massachusetts Bay and Boston Harbor, and the Plymouth area.
