Of the many different Psittacidae (true parrots) genera , six are classified as macaws: Ara Anodorhynchus Cyanopsitta Primolius Orthopsittaca , and Diopsittaca . Previously, the members of the genus Primolius were placed in Propyrrhura , but the former is correct in accordance with ICZN rules. Most species are associated with forest, especially rainforest , but others prefer woodland or savannah -like habitats Large, dark (usually black) beaks, and relatively bare, light coloured, medial (facial patch) areas distinguish macaws. Sometimes the facial patch is smaller in some species, and limited to a yellow patch around the eyes and a second patch near the base of the beak in the members of the genus Anodorhynchus , or Hyacinth Macaw . A macaw's facial feather pattern is as unique as a fingerprint. Some of the macaw species are known for their impressive size. The largest parrot in length and wingspan is the Hyacinth Macaw. The heaviest macaw is the Buffon's, although the heaviest parrot is the flightless

Arizona: AZ PARROTS Virginia: MOUNTAIN RIDGE A. N. Carolina: RIVERBANK A. Macaws are one of the great treasures we have in aviculture. They are very intelligent and every one has a different personality. Macaws are the largest parrots in the world and arguably the most beautiful. Hand-fed baby macaws have grown in popularity because of their endearing pet qualities and their abilit to talk or "mimic" human speach. I have a great love for all birds but macaws are a favorite for sure. The purpose of this site is to promote healthy pet macaws/parrots and quality  Macaw breeders . Macaw Breeders
Bird Breeders are constantly poping up and selling out. Scammers are in every classified internet site I have visited. The internet is full of people looking to make money without really "working."  Breeding and socializing macaws, or any exotic animal, requires a lot of work. Many bird breeders are cutting corners to save money, yet the macaws they sell are still advertised at market price.  The purpose of this site is to help you get a healthy, well socialized macaw from professional bird breeders and handlers. The breeders on this site are what I call bird breeders elite, breeders who are professional and honest.

The colorful and mystical Macaws have facinated us since the moment we first saw them. The Macaw can be an excellent speaker but is known for being comical and entertaining. Just one look at the beautiful colors make you wonder, what kind of place could such a beautiful animal live in nature? The thought that comes to mind is tropical paradise, nothing is more beautiful then to see them in live flight. Macaws due to their size need special cage considerations to exercise. They will love to sit on top of their cage and amuse you with speach and antics for hours. I laugh still to this day when they rock back and forth and communicate with me. . Please consult us for any questions and concerns for care. We'd be more then happy to help match you with the correct type of bird for the lifestyle in which you live. They are large birds, and as such are capable of extremely loud vocalizations. Because of this, they may not be the best choice for those who live in apartments and condominiums, or that have small children. zSB(3,3)
