QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a good general knowledge of library procedures derived from a recognized diploma program in library technology and on-the-job experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other requirements include job experience in working with an integrated library system; in deriving, revising or creating MARC cataloguing or serials control records; good desktop computer skills; and effective interpersonal skills. Experience in organizing and control of government publication collections or in reference, circulation,or acquisition duties would be desirable.       A PIECE OF HISTORY: Canada/Manitoba Economic Development Partnership Agreement supports culture and heritage project at the Manitoba Museum
      July 04, 2002 Winnipeg, Manitoba The story of the province's most populated and diverse region will soon be told for the enjoyment of Manitobans and tourists alike, thanks in part to a $500,000 contribution to The Manitoba Museum from the Canada/Manitoba Economic Development Partnership Agreement. The funding will be directed towards completion of the Parklands/Mixed-Woods Gallery opening September 20, 2003, and to further the Planetarium technological upgrade and Visitor Reception projects. The announcement was made today by Ron Lemieux, Minister of Culture, Heritage and Tourism for Manitoba, on behalf of Jean Friesen, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, and Raymond Simard, Member of Parliament for Saint-Boniface, on behalf of Stephen Owen, Secretary of State (Western Economic Diversification) (Indian Affairs and Northern Development). Both levels of government are contributing $250,000 to the $1.7 million initiative through the Canada/Manitoba Economic Development Partnership Agreement (EDPA).
