HOW TO SUPPORT US
2010 is off with a big bang! Odaiko New England has already visited 20 Massachusetts K-12 schools through our Young Audiences of Massachusetts partnership—-doubling the number of schools we visited this time last year!  We have also seen an increase in performance requests from organizations all over New England as we continue our schedule of weekly rehearsals, classes and workshops. All of this activity is very exciting. But it does mean that our drums are taking a beating (if you will pardon the expression)! Our wonderful members, staff and volunteers built many of the drums we use. They know first-hand what a wonderful feeling it is to watch the pieces-—a wine cask, an animal hide, and a box of taiko tacks or ropebecome a beautiful taiko drum. The increased activity we have experienced this year is beginning to show, however. Our drums transform us with the beautiful rhythms we love and now we need to transform our drums!
