Rietholzbach Research Catchment
Realtime Data
The purpose of the research catchment is to promote hydrological process studies to support the development of water balance and runoff models and to serve for educational purposes. The hydrological research catchment Rietholzbach is open for researchers from other groups and its data is freely available.
Site

The Rietholzbach catchment is a small hilly pre-alpine basin located in north-eastern Switzerland.
Research
We use the measurements from Rietholzbach to gain insights into land surface energy and water storage and exchanges.
Data

The Rietholzbach catchment features long term meteorological and hydrological time-series.
Instrumentation
Meteorological and hydrological measurements are carried out continuously at two sites in the Rietholzbach catchment.
Teaching

We offer a yearly one-week field course in hydrology, climate, micrometeorology and synoptic meteorology.
Publications

A large number of publications is available, documenting the research achievements with data from the Rietholzbach catchment.
