While the cuts have been rolled back, we have to stay vigilant. Continuing public health surveillance and continuing vector control are crucial to preventing vector-borne diseases and the morbidity and mortality that they cause. Review Modeling Transmission Dynamics and Control of Vector-Borne Neglected Tropical Diseases Neglected tropical diseases affect more than one billion people worldwide, mostly in resource-limited areas. Mathematical modeling of disease transmission and cost-effectiveness analyses can play a central role in maximizing limited resources by integrating new knowledge of vector and pathogen ecology, incorporating evolutionary responses to interventions, and expanding the scope of sensitivity analysis to achieve robust results. | |
