MIDDLE EAST ARCHEOLOGY by Avi Davis If American Middle East policy could be represented as an archeological dig, it would look something like this: the Zinni Mission would be resting atop the ruins of the Tenet Work Plan, which would be crushing the remains of the Mitchell Commission Report, which would be settled on remnants of the pillaged Sharm al Sheikh agreement, all of which would be weighing down the collapsed foundations of the shattered Oslo Accords. If recent history is a reliable gauge, peacemaking produces more embarrassment than it does results and only fosters the impression that the United States is helpless to have any meaningful impact on the Arab Israeli conflict. Only three weeks into the life of the latest initiative, the Bush Administration's Road Map seems poised to join this historical ash heap. You didn't need to be Nostradamus to predict it : The contemptuousness of Hamas, the weakness of Abu Mazen, the brazen interference of Yasser Arafat, the raw hostility of the Palestinian street were all clear indicators of the impetuousness of any initiative that avoided dealing with the central issue of the Arab-Israeli conflict : the pan-Arab disinclination to recognize Israel's right to exist. Unable to grasp this fundamental obstacle to peace, the Bush Administration's Middle East policy has now become hostage to the kind of unrealistic expectations that churned Clinton's Middle East policies into mud and blinkered millions into believing that peace was just around the corner.

    Edward Dormer is a conceptual artist who has exhibited in the US and Europe and has received many grant awards, fellowships, invitations and commissions to realize his vision. Some of his more notable honors included a residency funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts at Château de La Napoule in Southern France, a public art grant from Gniew Castle in Northern Poland, and several high-profile opportunities during a year of making works in Berlin/Potsdam Germany. Installations sites have varied in size, place and historical significance. US sites range from nature preserves, to the uncontrollable anthracite mine-fire in renowned Centralia Pennsylvania, to the Delaware River flowing past Philadelphia’s abandoned industrial piers. In Europe, compelling sites include a tomb-tower on the French Riviera, a grove in the Dordogne Valley, Teutonic Castle in North Poland, and a dilapidated military base in Potsdam, Germany. A few words about the work..

Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi speaks during an interview in his home in Gaza City on June 29 following the ceasefire announcement What is it then that caused the Bush Administration to trundle down a road so ridden with pitfalls and cursed with the burned out chasses of so many past vehicles of peace? It is of course a noble American tradition to campaign for peace between belligerents - harking back to the bold interventionism of both Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. Such idealism has always been based on the notion that the United States, free of Europe's historical baggage could wield significant leverage in a world fraught with violence and conflict. Such slogans as 'making the world safe for democracy' and 'new world order' gained currency and acceptance as distinctly American visions of a world in which violence and conflict would be contained.

A childhood fascination of mine was Middle east Archeology and mythology. I read voraciously in my high school and college years on these subjects.

THE BLACK SUN compiled by Dee Finney 6-30-02 - VISION As I was waking up, I saw this book cover Revelation 6: 12: When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold,
there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth,
the full moon became like blood, 13: and the stars of the sky fell to the
earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale;
14: the sky vanished like a scroll that is rolled up, and every mountain
and island was removed from its place. 15 Then the kings of the earth,
the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every
free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 They
called to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the
face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?" COMMENTARY FROM: http://www.apocalipsis.org/rev-6.htm v12 - I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. - A great earthquake will accompany the second coming, (Isa 29:6, Ezek 38:19, Zec 14:4). v12 - The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, - This passage is a clear reference to the second coming of Christ in judgment against the nations, as prophesied by Joel 2:30-31 and Mat 24:29.
