What Is Army ROTC
Army ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) is one of three ways for young men and women to become officers in the United States Army. The three ways are:
  • Army ROTC (on over 800 different campuses in the U.S.) West Point Military Academy OCS (Officer Candidate School) - For those soldiers already in the Army who already have a college degree or are close to completion.
  • ROTC is one of the best leadership courses in the country and can be a part of your college curriculum. Being a student/cadet at Creighton University, or one of our affiliated campuses, and learning to become a leader will make your college experience even richer. The ROTC program prepares our cadets for leadership in the United States Army after graduation.
    Benefits
Army ROTC is one of the Nation's top leadership programs, with a wide range of benefits. Through Army ROTC you can:
    • Get help with your college tuition with an Army ROTC Scholarship Gain experience you can't find anywhere else Gain the respect of your peers and future employers Train to become a Leader and manager

Leadership In Army ROTC you will learn to become a leader—not just a person who gives orders but a person who leads by example. Being an Officer in the U.S. Army means you're a counselor, a strategist and a motivator. It's similar to being a vital manager in a corporation. As an Officer, you will lead other Soldiers in all situations and adjust to environments that are always changing. You'll be driven to achieve success with your team on every mission.

The Cambridge Illustrated History of Warfare
    Geoffrey Parker (Editor)
    January 1995
    Textbook Paperback
    From Library Journal
Highly polished and well illustrated, this book is a comprehensive history of the Western (European) way of war, spanning ancient Greece to today's modern methods and policies of destruction. Parker and six prominent American and British scholars contribute 17 chapters to this detailed study of war. Parker's effort explores the history of Western war through strategy and policy; tactics and logistics; finances and culture; weapons and fortifications; air, land and naval battle; and conventional and civil war. The text is superbly supported by numerous and handy sidebars providing details, insights, and anecdotes. Supplementing the text are a reference guide containing a rather subjective chronology of warfare, a pedestrian and slightly inaccurate glossary, and a marvelously described annotated bibliography....
