Becker County, located in northwest central Minnesota, was established in March 18, 1858 and the first european settlers came to the county about ten years later. Government surveying to establish townships boundaries started in 1870 and was completed in 1872. The county contains 40 townships (all of townships 138, 139, 140, 141, and 142 north, of ranges 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42 and 43 west of the Fifth Principal Meridian.) The MinnesotaGenWeb Project

In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index. This lead to the USGenWeb of which Minnesota is a part. See also: MNGenWeb Archives

It is the USGenWeb policy to provide FREE information to help everyone with their research. If you have public domain documents that would help other researchers, please submit them to the MNGenWeb Archives Coordinator. These archives depend fully on donations of files and volunteers to transcribe items for us. Contributions by folks like you, are what makes this project grow. Due to storage space restriction we can not accept family GEDCOM files at this time. Some types of records we can accept: anything in the public domain, anything published before 1921 and items published after 1921 with authors written permission. Please see the
