A great game to play is to play store. This game is great for younger students. Before class starts set out some items on tables. Then make some price tags for each item. When your children get to class tell them they get to go shopping. Pick one person to be the cashier. That person deals with the money. Give everyone else fifty dollars in play money. Then when they are done shopping they must pay the cashier the correct amount of money and the cashier must give them back the correct amount of change. Then you can eventually switch where another student is the cashier and takes the money.
A great craft idea is to have your students design a dollar bill. Before class cut out fake dollar bills on white sheets of paper. When your students get to your classroom give each of them one or two of the play money that you made. Then have them decorate the play money any way they want. They can put their favorite animal on it or they can even draw themselves on it. Then have them color the drawings that they did with markers or crayons.
