    • Star-Ledger columnist stands up for teacher
Bob Braun, columnist for the Newark Star-Ledger, has written a ringing defense of a teacher whose life and career were turned on end when she was secretly recorded at the NJEA Summer Leadership Conference. Braun reveals that the teacher is a decorated hero: in 1997, she saved the lives of students by throwing herself in the way of a speeding van. Read More
NJEA: ‘Christie irresponsible and out of control’
Comments to students enrage teachers NJEA President Barbara Keshishian today labeled Gov. Christie’s comments to a group of students “irresponsible and out of control,” and accused him of “using students to advance a political agenda.” Keshishian said NJEA members were angered by Christie’s comments to Trenton students, in which he said it was the “greedy teachers union” – and not his $1.3 billion in cuts – that was responsible for the lack of classroom supplies.

: All members of the horse community in New Jersey FROM : The directors of the New Jersey Horse Council The New Jersey Supreme Court correctly read and interpreted the Equestrian Activities Liability Act; its decision is an excellent correction of the error that occurred when this case was in the Appellate Division. The New Jersey Horse Council is grateful for the support received in contributions to our legal fund which made it possible for us to hire an attorney so that we could present our own brief to the Court. It is worth noting that the Farm Bureau also became involved in the case and submitted a brief. A link to the actual decision is on this website at http://lawlibrary.rutgers.edu/courts/supreme/a-52-09.opn.html.
