On Friday October 15th, firefighters from the Union Fire Department spent the day teaching students about fire safety at Hanford Dole Elementary School. Firefighters showed the students the fire truck and fire equipment. The firemen also put on their gear and demonstrated what they have to wear to protect themselves and others when they are called out to a fire. The event was coordinated by Temika Turner of Communities In Schools. Firefighters participating in this event were: J R Poole, Garrison Jones, Travis Cauble, Katey Watkins, and Rick Waller. Thanks to all our firefighters for all they give and sacrifice to protect our community. 11-10-10 - Rowan Public Library visits North Rowan Middle Sixth grade students from North Rowan Middle School learned about programs offered at the Rowan Public Library More 11-8-10 - Contest sponsored by Media Department announced.
