Welcome from WVU Tech Department of Nursing
Thank you for your interest in nursing at WVU Tech. As a department within the West Virginia University School of Nursing, we envision optimal health, enhanced quality of life, and excellent health care for the people of West Virginia and the global community. In order to contribute to this vision WVU Tech Department of Nursing is the only public institution in the southern part of West Virginia to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The curriculum is the same as offered in Morgantown with the advantage of smaller class sizes and faculty who really get to know the students as individuals in order to meet their educational needs. We celebrate the addition of state-of-the-art simulation equipment to the nursing skills lab and the clinical experiences in both large teaching hospitals and rural settings. Our graduates have job placement in a variety of health care settings including hospitals and community health agencies. Many of our graduates have continued on to graduate programs and become nurse practitioners, nurse educators, nurse administrators, nurse anesthetists, and nurse midwives.
