What is Microsoft Word? Microsoft Word is the most popular word processing application. It is included in the Microsoft Office Suite, which also includes Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Windows and Word. What versions of Word are tests available for? Versions 6.0, 7.0, 97, 2000 and XP. Also available - Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook XP Two Word tests are available: the Normal User test and the Power User test. The Normal User test is designed to test clerical level users of Word. The test assesses the user's ability to create and develop a basic word processing document and a mail merge. The Normal User test includes basic, intermediate and advanced questions and tests mastery of the most commonly used commands. The Word Normal User test is 30 questions long and should take an average user 15 minutes to complete. The Power User test is designed to test very experienced users of Word. The test assesses the user's ability to use more formatting features and advanced functions (including Index, Table of Contents, Tables and Columns). The test includes intermediate and advanced level questions. The Power User test is 25 question long and should take a user 12-15 minutes to complete.

Here are a few practices you can implement to make sure that no personal data escapes your company:
    • Don’t copy any data to your laptop, PDA or cell phone. You may bring these electronics to work with you, but be sure to keep the data within the confines of your secure company. The security that you may have on your personal electronics is probably not as impenetrable, nor are they monitored by the Information Technology (IT) department in your company. Keep your work inside your office . Don’t be tempted to take sensitive data home, or anywhere else, to work on. If you have extra work that you want to catch up on, talk to your supervisor about times when it’s best to complete that work. Use only a secure server. If you do receive permission to work on your personal computer or laptop outside of your office, make sure you’re accessing the Internet with a secure server. Use a password-protected connection that you or someone you know and trust created.
