Ohio Institutions are Winners of Innovation Award in Online Student Services
The Center for Transforming Student Services (CENTSS) announced the winners of its first Innovation Award in Online Student Services. These college and university student services professionals have used tools, creative strategies, and fresh thinking to design, develop, implement, and maintain online student services that have produced measureable results. Awards were given in five CENTSS student service areas: Administrative Core, Student Communities Suite, Personal Services Suite, Academic Services Suite, and Communications Suite. Out of the 20 awards given, Ohio higher educational institutions received six.
Nominate Colleagues for an Award for Excellence in eLearning
The Instructional Technology Council would like to give you the opportunity to recognize your staff for their tremendous hard work, excellent service to your students, and quality eLearning courses. The deadline to nominate a colleague or distance learning program to receive special recognition for excellence from ITC has been extended to Friday, Nov. 12, 2010! Nominees should be college administrators, faculty members, or individuals from other agencies that have supported eLearning initiatives at a community college or other higher education organization. Nominees do not have to be members of ITC. ITC award winners will receive a complimentary registration to attend eLearning 2011 in St. Pete Beach, Florida on Feb. 19-22, 2011, courtesy of ITC. They will be honored at a special recognition luncheon on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011.

Click here to access the NHSA Re-Competition Toolkit , which provides information about the rule making process, a summary of the proposed regulations, and information about the comment process. Public comments are due to the Office of Head Start by December 21, 2010. The Ohio Head Start Association will be providing guidance to the Head Start community to assist in the comment process following the November 16/17 OHSAI Futures Group meeting.
