Dedicated to the promotion of better education for all students, the Lawton Public Schools Instructional Media / Technology Center is located at 753 NW Fort Sill Boulevard Lawton, Oklahoma. The IMC staff serves the Lawton School District's needs by providing instructional supplies, a custom non-commercial print shop, instructional television on Channel 17 (Lawton) and Computer/Audio Visual repair services. Comprised of 29 elementary schools, 7 secondary schools and 1 alternative school the Lawton Public Schools system numbers in excess of 18,000 students. Striving to be a leader in promoting both the basic curriculums and advanced technology, Lawton schools have individually received many honors.

Hamilton Middle School Career Academy Library Media Center - newly remodeled for Fall '06 PS -It's never this empty! Mission: Scholars will become self-directed, life-long learners; effective communicators; constructive thinkers; and community contributors. The library media specialist will collaborate with teachers in designing learning activities and instruction that strengthen problem-solving skills of scholars. Library Staff: Ms. Julie McPheeters, Library Media Specialist, joined the Hamilton staff in September 2004. General Information: The Hamilton Library has automated circulation and online catalog access. Fourteen networked student computer stations provide access to the district databases and "The Big Six." Parents and scholars may access the library catalog (Destiny) from the same page. http://destiny.tulsaschools.org/ Check Out: Scholars may check out 2 books at a time. Books are due back 2 weeks from the date of check out. The date will be stamped in the back of the book. Scholars will be responsible for the items that are loaned from the library. If a book is lost or ruined (missing pages, marked up mud or water damaged) the replacement cost of the book will be charged to the scholar's account.

Through the assistance of the Oklahoma Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped , the Oklahoma Department of Libraries , and the National Library Service division of the Library of Congress, students have the ability to access materials, equipment, and information needed for educational and recreational use. The library also provides assistance in locating resources to materials, textbooks, equipment, and information concerning blindness to public school teachers, students, and parents from across the state. Assistance in locating informational resources regarding students with S pecial Needs in addition to blindness may also be requested.
