Wyandotte Nation 2010 Honoree: Ramona Reid
The Wyandotte Nation Honored Person for 2010 is Ramona Reid. Ramona is a citizen of the Wyandotte Nation and was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Tribe in 1999 and has served the Nation in this capacity since that time. Ramona was born in Quapaw, Oklahoma and at a young age moved with her family to southern California where she resided for many years before moving back to the Wyandotte area. Ramona and her husband Robert (Bob) Reid have been married for 51 years and are the proud parents of two children Rory and Ramie and 3 grandchildren Cathleen, Ted and Grace Lee. Ramona is of the Wolf Clan and is the great, great, granddaughter of John James Harris. She is an avid correspondent and enjoys researching her family genealogy. One of her favorite past times is to sit on the porch of her lakefront home and read a good book. “Teh hon din she wah” is an accurate description of Ramona, meaning she gets things done. Ramona enjoys serving the Nation as a Board Member and attends most all tribal and employee functions. She has been a strong supporter of our tribal culture and heritage programs and gets involved in all the activities promoted by our Cultural Committee. The Wyandotte Nation congratulates Ramona Reid as this year’s “Honored Person”.
