BACK TO CONSTITUTIONS MAIN PAGE CONSTITUTION OF THE OTOE-MISSOURIA TRIBE OF INDIANS PREAMBLE We, the members of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indians in recognition of God Almighty, in order to promote our common welfare, conserve and develop our lands and resources, and secure for ourselves and our descendants the rights, powers and privileges of self government do establish and ratify this Constitution for the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indians pursuant to our inherent powers of self-government and the Act of Congress approved June 26, 1936 (49 Stat. 1967), known as the Thomas-Rogers Oklahoma Indian Welfare Act. ARTICLE 1 - NAME The name of this organization shall be the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indians.
