Welcome
Pilates is a series of non-impact resistance exercises done in reclining or sitting positions on floor mats or specialized equipment. It was develop by Joseph Pilates nearly a century ago to help rehabilitate returning World War I veterans, but has only recently moved to the forefront as people seek alternative methods of fitness. High impact methods and focusing on single muscle groups overstresses the body and may even cause injury. Pilates is gentle and designed to accommodate any age and level of fitness. It starts off by gently and deeply working from your core to improve your strength, posture, balance, and flexibility. Some physical therapists recommend Pilates to help rehabilitation. It is also popular among athletes, dancers, and those whose careers depend on keeping fit. Pilates is not just an exercise system, but a lifestyle for health and fitness.

At that time, Reuben McCreary platted a town site on 73 acres, which he dubbed "Riverside." the Oregon Short Line Railroad obtained a right-of-way from McCreary in 1911, and in 1914, he changed the town sites name, giving it the name of his birthplace, Adrian, Illinois. January 29, 2009
MEDFORD, Ore. - While the U.S. Senate debates Obama's $819 billion stimulus package, some Southern Oregon cities are continuing to move forward on infrastructure projects, hoping it will help create jobs in the stagnant economy.
A $3.5 million Medford City Hall improvement project is putting about 80 people to work. The project involves overhauling the building's heating system, a lighting upgrade, and a renovation of the city council chambers.
At its peak this summer, the South Medford Interchange Project near Exit 27 on Interstate 5 employed over 130 workers. The $70 million project, which began in June 2006, is designed to improve safety and traffic congestion problems in the area.
The city of Grants Pass is also conducting a series of projects, including road maintenance and repair to Highway 199, Rogue River Highway, and Highway 238.
"We've also put together a package of projects to send to ODOT, who's gathering projects from around the state hoping that Oregon can take advantage of the economic stimulus package that's being talked about," says Grants Pass Assistant City Manager Laurel Samson.

Congratulations, Kathy Haynie, National Board Certified Teacher
Kathy Haynie was the first teacher in the Oregon City School District to receive National Board Certification. Her certification was in English Language Arts / Adolescence and Young Adulthood. Kathy is now the first teacher in our district to have qualified for renewal of the certification. Both certificates are admirable. To receive the initial certification, Kathy was a trailblazer in the National Board Certification process. Her experience was a very rigorous process of submitting written entries that included videotaping and analysis of instruction as well as written assessments in her content area. She also submitted documentation of accomplishments outside her regular classroom instruction that directly impacted student learning and progress.

Oregon City Preschool
Oregon City Preschool Co-op Philosophy
We accept children of all colors, race and creed at their own level of development. We strive to create a comfortable learning environment. Most of our learning is done through play (songs, games, free exploration and discussion). We strive to give the children an opportunity to establish life long social skills.
Children develop and mature greatly in preschool years. At this age children need to form social contacts with others of their own age. Preschool provides the opportunity for group play with friends under careful supervision and conditions not possible at home. Our school provides a physical environment set up to scale for a child’s size and level of maturity trying to eliminate some of the feelings of frustration that comes from living in a world set up for adults. Our teacher works with each child according to his/her needs. She understands the child’s point of view, addresses any problems and desires. Preschool also gives parents relief from the tensions of full time parenting responsibilities. This short break on school days can mean much to the children and the parent.

Bratton Appraisal Group said Multiple Listing Service data shows that during most of 2009, short sales and sales of bank-owned properties totaled upward of 60 percent of the houses sold in Bend, The Bulletin reported. In nearby Redmond, Madras and Prineville, duress sales account for an even larger share of the market. In Redmond, the rate hit a high of 87 percent in January, while Prineville peaked at 90 percent in January and May 2010, and Madras climbed all the way to 100 percent of the market during five months in 2009 and 2010.
