Religious Painting
Painting has always been associated with the life of the Church . From the time of the Catacombs it has been used in ecclesiastical ornamentation, and for centuries after Constantine religious art was the only form of living art in the Christian world. Its fecundity has been wonderful and even now, although much diminished, is still important. Until the Renaissance the Church exercised a veritable monopoly over this sphere. Profane painting in Europe dates only from the last five centuries and it took the lead only in the nineteenth century. It may therefore be said that throughout the Christian Era the history of painting has been that of religious painting. It would be absurd to seek to place the Church in contradiction to the Gospel on this point, as did the Iconoclasts in the eighth century and the Protestants in the sixteenth. The doctrine of the Church has been clearly enunciated by Molanus in his "Historia SS. Imaginum" (Louvain, 1568). It is truly remarkable that such a magnificent development of artistic thought should proceed from a purely spiritual doctrine preached by humble Galilean fishermen who were ignorant of art and filled with the horror of idolatry characteristic of the Semitic people. Far from reproaching the

Faux Painting Techniques The Internet's best destination for faux painting information and resources.
Faux Painting Techniques
Over the past few years, the number of websites on the topic of Faux Painting has increased considerably. There is a simple reason for this. The truth is that anyone can learn how to faux paint. Every person that is able to pick up a paintbrush and paint any solid color can learn how to faux finish a surface. The result is a wealth of fabulous colors and effects achieved by learning simple, easy faux painting techniques. The motivation behind Faux Painting Techniques.com is to provide an opportunity for website visitors to access all required faux finishing resources in one location. Our goal is also to provide a support structure for those researching new and challenging finishes. In addition to covering the techniques necessary to create the basic elements of each style and finish, we include finishes that reflect the prevailing tastes of today's best interior decorators and artists, as well as those of their clients. As a result, the faux finishes detailed are more complex and diverse than those found on most other faux paint websites. How to use this website: Faux Painting Techniques was conceived, designed and written to avoid some of the shortcomings found on so many other information sites. There exists an overwhelming amount of useless content, poor site navigation structure and ineffective images on many related websites, making it difficult to determine how a particular finish was created.

Pumpkin Painting Stencils
Don't have good painting skills, but still want to create some spooky looking painted pumpkins? Use pumpkin painting stencils, for creating great looking pumpkins for this Halloween. Using pumpkin carving patterns can be easy, however, creating carving inside a pumpkin can be a bit messy and unsafe. Especially, unsafe for children as the carving knife if not handled properly can cause injuries. So, a safer way to decorate pumpkins is using paint colors. It doesn't matter if you are an artist or not, today there are many different interesting pumpkin painting stencils available which you can use to create some cool looking painted pumpkins.
Painting pumpkins
is an easier job, and your children can also help you in painting pumpkins. With some good ideas you can paint some simple designs onto the pumpkin. However, if you are not good at painting and end up creating a mess while painting, then using some cool pumpkin painting stencils patterns you can create neat looking painted pumpkins.
For creating painted pumpkin faces , or shapes on to pumpkins or scenes on pumpkins, it is important that you pick the best pumpkins. Small sized pumpkins work best as they are easy to handle, faster to finish painting on, require less material and can be perched on a desk or on a shelf too. So, buy small sized pumpkins. Also, they stay in shape for longer compared to larger pumpkins. If you are picking pumpkins from a patch, then cut the pumpkins with 2-3 inches of the vine still sticking to the stem of the pumpkin. Look for pumpkins which don't have any gashes or blemishes. You can use blue, orange or white pumpkins for painting.
