The painting could become a child or a parent, a brother or a sister. The artists give birth to them and they are responsible for their creatures in front of God and people.

"A life without Art is like a ship without oars" Anon.
    Artist's Statement from TA-Thomas Adam
At the core of my being, I am compelled to create art. No matter what media I am using, my goals as an artist remain the same I endeavor to create art that will engage, provoke and cause the viewer to reflect and wonder.
I wish to invite my audience to question and hopefully identify with the issues I am raising be they social, spiritual or esthetic.
A little bit more about my work:
The surfaces of my mixed media paintings are worked with a combination of techniques applied in various layers. Pigments are thinned to a liquid consistency with different solvents and manipulated, thus achieving diverse effects. Sometimes I mix the gouache and watercolors up with glue, ink, chalk or whatever the academic art professors strictly have forbidden! :-)
I learned very much by studying the great innovations in technique by surrealist artist Max Ernst - collage and rubbing, frottage, grattage and decalcomania -

How-To DIY FAQ Home Site Map P A I N T I N G In the past house painting has been a real chore,we are going change that and make your next painting project last longer, go faster and save you money too. Selecting Materials
The number 1 reason why most homeowners have painting problems lies right here, selection of materials. There is no such thing as a Good inexpensive can of paint! You get exactly what you pay for.
Considering that it costs the Manufacturer appx $4.00 for the can, label, lid, bail and shipping box, now add the cost of raw materials, manufacturing, markup for factory profit, freight, then the retailer has to make his 30- 40% profit, what do you think is in a can of paint that sells for $10-$12.00?
A lot of frustration
Better quality coatings will give you better hiding power meaning more square footage per gallon, easy touch up and longer life.
When I was contracting I would tell my customers, "it costs you 5 cents a sq ft for me to drag the brush across a surface, what I put on the end of the brush is up to you, .03 cents per foot and I'll be back next year, .08 cents per ft and I'll see you in 6-8 years" Get the idea?

A guide to painting Games Workshop s Warmaster armies.

Warmaster Painting Guide
Painting a Warmaster army. What’s worse than a painter telling you how to play ?
A player telling you how to paint !
So what is the excuse for me writing about painting ? Speed. I’m good in painting armies fast and they still look like armies, not as good as Gareth Hamilton's, but still good enough.
You paint larger Warmaster models, like Giants, as you would paint a Warhammer model, but How about the ordinary rank and file Warmaster miniature.
Preparations. It is a good idea to know what the models shall look like, before you start to paint. I often do a single base/stand to test the paint scheme. There are some things to remember when you start to decide on the paint scheme.
Doug Adams shared his wisdom with us when he said that mankind is the only race in the universe to state the obvious all the time. So here it is:
The models are small, they look small in your hands and look even smaller on the table.
When you want to save time on painting it is always a good idea to paint more than one model at a time. The typical size of 3 stands per Warmaster unit gives you 6 miniature strips. Just the perfect number of miniatures to work on as once (good thinking Mr. Priestley).
Like all miniatures the Warmaster models have to be cleaned and all flash has to be removed. The undercoat is rather important for how quickly you can finish the paint job. A sensible choice will save a lot of time later. On the silver helms I used a black base coat, as the black can be used for black-lining as well as it makes the silver of the armour stand out better.

Tips on how to paint military miniatures from a painter and wargamer, Jeff Jonas.

Last Modified Painting 101

I'm not no 'Paint Nazi'. But I will admit that it is much more enjoyable to play a miniature game vs. 'real' miniatures as opposed to stand-ins (primed/or bare metal aren't 'real' yet). Painting military miniatures is a joy and a challenge, and I appreciate everyone's efforts to try to field a fully painted force, as that is (for me) half the fun of gaming. The following is just a few tips to help somebody new to painting wargames miniatures.. nothing earth shatteringly new, just basic stuff. Eventually I will get some illustrations up, and some other bits dealing with detailing, and techniques. But for now the basics.
With a little perseverance, and patience, over time you can fill up
a case like this with hundreds of nicely painted figures!

First, I am a decent miniature painter, I'm lucky.. I have some talent, and I've been doing it A VERY LONG TIME. Gamers shouldn't compare their first efforts to GW/Foundry Studio professionals and Golden Demon winners at first- they should try to achieve completed armies ready to play to a Wargames standard. By which I mean, the models are covered, flesh parts are flesh, bronze is bronze. The bases are painted and flocked. Also, do pay attention to your movement trays and sleds... while some may find it 'discourteous' to play against people that don't have painted lead, I find that it is much more frustrating to play somebody that hasn't given his army any kind of thought of organization, and every time he moves a unit, models are falling and knocking his (and mine) about. A few quick movement trays make the game move faster, which is always a good thing.

Win Battle Flag's Irish Brigade Standard Painted by THe Generals Paintbrush
I have just completed the first 25 mm ACW wargame figure for Battle Flag. The first casting to be painted is from the Perry Minitures metal ACW range. But the really good news is that any client that places an order for wargame and model flags between now and the 22nd July 2010 will be entered into a draw to win this painted miniature of a 69th New York Color Sergeant (figure from Perry Miniatures 25mm ACW range).
Painted and based to my museum standard and carrying the beautifully rendered 25mm Regimental flag of the 69th New York Regiment from Battle Flag this will be a worthy addition to any wargamers or modelers collection of model soldiers.
