It went extremely well, and we raised over $5000 for Help -By-Phone. Overheard in NY very cute hole in the wall From there we walked to Greenwich Village and The Strand bookstore where we spent a good chunk of time. Then it was on to the Upper West Side, I believe, to get dinner before the Jonathan Coulton Paul and Storm Ozen , where my Thai curry was num num nums! I had some left over and Alex kindly stored it in his Strand man bag the whole show on youtube After the show I was waiting around, and RnA were in the bathrooms, when Jonathan walked up the aisle toward the back to start the meet and greet. Since he was walking right by me I said Hi, and he paused and came over and said Hi and gave me a little hug. The show was great. I have only been to two shows on Broadway before (around 15 years ago), and neither were quite like this. The sets were amazing, and the costumes too. The show was very fun and funny and even sad at times, and totally ridiculous. The singing and dancing was good too. We had a great time. We went through Central Park and had a great time there, and headed to

zSB(3,3) For those who like to play word games, palindromes can be fun to play with in either Spanish or English. Palindromes are words, phrases or sentences that use the same letters both backward and forward. One of the most famous in English may have been Adam's first words to Eve: "Madam, I'm Adam." To that, she was able to learn fast and replied with a palindrome of her own: "Eve." Spanish too has palindromes, and like many of the ones written in English they often rely on obscure words or unnatural word order to work. As in English, spaces and capitalization don't count, and neither do accent marks. The longest common single-word palindrome in Spanish is reconocer , "to recognize," which has the same number of letters as sometemos , a conjugated verb meaning "we submit." Some Spanish-speaking word gamesters have proposed the longer word

Palindromes In a mathematical context a palindrome is a number that reads the same in either a forward or backward direction. In other words a palindrome (or palindromic number) is equal to its reverse. Thus for example 1331 is a palindrome. Such numbers have considerable psycho-mathematical significance
    Fascinating Palindromes
There are many fascinating palindromes involving consecutive digit sequences.
For example in base 10 we can construct palindromes with consecutive digits starting
with 1. For example 121 is such a palindrome. It is divisible by 11 with the result = 11 which of course is also a palindrome. (Note that in this example the highest digit 2 is even.) With the requirement that the highest digit is even the next such palindrome is 1234321. Again it is divisible by 11 with the result = 112211. Continuing on in this fashion the next such palindrome is 12345654321. Again it is divisible by 11 with the result = 1122332211. This pattern will repeat itself with the final single even digit in base 10 as highest digit. Thus 123456787654321 divided by 11 = 11223344332211.

The primary criterion for inclusion here is that the word is listed in one or more of the dictionaries or encyclopedias referenced by the OneLook dictionary search . However, some entries have been included on the basis of plausible evidence from other websites, or the application of living prefixes or suffixes (such as -er , meaning agent). Surnames are excluded. Some place names have also been omitted on the grounds of being too obscure.

Palindromes are spelled the same both forwards and backwards. There are many great palindromes, and many collections of them exists just search for "palindrome" on any web search engine. However, the palindromes below are entirely original. Furthermore, most of them, as indicated, were created with the AI Palindrome Discovery System (a homework project ( including Java code ) for exploring search strategies in our Artificial Intelligence course). To my knowledge, this is the first automatic creation of palindromes. Read more about the project in our published cs education paper Also, you are urged to check out this animated palindrome New: Moreover, check out this other animated palindrome applet, by Michael Birken. It shows the same palindrome in a cool circular 2D animation that would only be possible for a palindrome. Symmetric "Kargo" , by Michael Birken. You cannot argue that this does not say Kargo. You cannot argue that this is not symmetric (looks the same in a mirror). 'Course, it is not a palindrome, but Michael was thinking a lot about palindromes when he made it, and he works at Kargo with me. Automatically created palindromes.

    29. Palindromes
Commentary on palindromes plus a 306-word palindrome.
    http://www.growndodo.com/wordplay/palindromes/index.html
The dream which occupies the tortuous mind of every palindromist is that somewhere within the confines of the language lurks the Great Palindrome, a nutshell which not only fulfils the intricate demands of the art, flowing sweetly in both directions, but which also contains the Final Truth of Things. Alistair Reid Palindromania is not a disorder but, rather, an evolutionary, passionate effort to cobble letters into order and truth. I say "evolutionary" because I believe that in our species is evolving a heightened wonderment at and facility with the universe of letters. We are getting better at making the alphabet dance. Richard Lederer, The Vocabula Review , January 2002, Vol. 4, No. 1
    Palindromes
They're very hard to write. My only major effort in this field is the following 306-word masterpiece, Dog Sees Ada , composed in 1991. You may expect a grander effort, to be titled Seid Ada (German for "To Be Ada") in 2002. I have a rough idea for the plot of Seid Ada but I haven't yet figured out how it will end. Writing a long palindrome requires patience and a keen eye for hidden words. If you've ever wandered the aisles of a grocery store, noticing the "lonely" in "Tylenol," the "nosy" in "Tyson," or the "soiree" in "Cheerios," there is a decent chance that you, too, could compose such a work.

    Madam I'm Adam...:
'Madam, I'm Adam' is one of the best known palindromes but Eden's Adam never uttered it to his palindromic Eve (I have this from a very reliable source). Nonetheless, this form of wordplay is ancient.
The epigrams of Nicodemus of Hereclea (300 BC?) and other ancient Greek writings contain palindromes. SOTADICS is another name for palindromes, after Sotades, a poet of this period who employed them frequently in his satirical poetry.
