Physical Education
For most of us these period in school used to be tiring yet enjoyable. Physical education, which the periods were called pertains to the course which focuses on physical activity - sports and exercises. Physical education is activity using a program for physical fitness. It is a subject which is more practical than theoretic. Today's students want to learn fitness techniques in order to further their sports experience or to feel better about themselves. Teachers should be up-to-date on the latest in resources for this subject, including national standards. Physical fitness includes tumbling, running, basketball, softball, weight training, racquetball, etc. PE is also a time of teaching students how to pace themselves and how to learn new skills.
Objectives of Physical Education

Physical education is part of most of the school and college curricula. Some of the important objectives of physical education include, the development of one’s motor and social abilities, promoting the importance of physical fitness and encouraging the budding talents. Take a look at some of the main objectives of physical education.
Importance of Physical Education

The importance of physical education is no less than any other subjects in the regular curriculum. Read on to find out more...

Physics Education Research at CU-Boulder
The Physics Education Research Group at Colorado (PER@C) is one of the newest and largest research programs in PER in the nation. Our research group develops and studies: uses of technology in physics education, assessments (conceptual, epistemological, and belief oriented), theoretical models of students learning physics, social and contextual foundations of student learning, examination of successful educational reforms and replication studies of such reforms, and student problem-solving in physics. We sponsor a number of educational reforms in physics, which range from pre-college to post-doctoral. The research group includes faculty, staff, and students from both the Department of Physics and the School of Education.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
(Updated 6/2/10)
OVERVIEW
The physical education consultant provides professional development, technical assistance and resources to schools for the development and implementation of standards-based curricula, instruction and assessment. Physical education curricular materials are available for loan through the Health Education Resource Center (HERC) located at the Department of Education in Montpelier. A competitive grant also funds the purchase and implementation of heart rate monitors in high school physical education. Physical education provides regular moderate to vigorous exercise for students through a variety of sports, games and lifetime physical activities. Graduates of an exemplary, sequential physical education program will be able to evaluate their own physical fitness, set goals, and use their physical activity knowledge and skills to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Curriculum and assessment in this content area is to be based on the Physical Education Grade Expectations which are divided into four areas of learning: knowledge/motor skills, physical fitness, affective qualities and social interaction. The Physical Education Grade Expectations are more specific statements of the
